Mario Manningham's Season In Jeopardy (1 Viewer)

I know that he hasn't been the best option so far this season, but I'm sure there are still a number of teams with him sitting on their roster as a possible backup if needed. This just popper through on the News feed section on MFL...

(KFFL) New York Giants WR Mario Manningham (knee) said there are things floating around in his knee and is not ruling out the possibility of undergoing season-ending surgery. Head coach Tom Coughlin said Manningham has received treatment on the knee but it has not shown much improvement.

Dude, thanks a bundle for this news. I've been trying to figure out what to do with him and now I know I can drop him.

Kind of a disappointing finish for a guy in a contract year. I doubt he stays a Giant next year with Cruz's emergence.

What a wasted pick this guy was. To think I traded away Welker in a dynasty league for this guy before the season began.

Bump Nicks by one catch and 8 yds per game for a grand total of 4 catches and 40 yds per game now.

Nice. Now all I need is for the Cowboys to announce that Miles Austin is done for the year and I'll be set.

<---- Cruz and Robinson owner.

per Dave Roberts, Giants beat reporter:

Mario Manningham (knee) did not practice and just rode the stationary bike. He appears doubtful for Sun. #nyg

per Ebenezer Samuel of the NY Daily News:

Manningham: It's uncomfortable to run. I'm not full speed and that's my strength. On possibility of surgery: We'll see after the season.

Grrr. Hopefully that doesn't mean that he'll just sit and not play without being put on IR. If he plays, he more valuable than the other options on the waiver wire, but if he isn't going to be able to come back, I wish they would just go ahead and place him on IR so I can make other arrangements.

Maybe he is trying to gut it out and see if they can eke out a few wins and make a playoff run - if they lose their next couple of games maybe he'll opt for surgery if they're out of it.

With the season now short, unless you have very shallow WR's, it's time to move on from Manningham. I cut him yesterday, but then again also am stacked at WR's, but am hurting at RB. Hold if you must, but reality is Mario is not anyone you will start with confidence in your fantasy playoffs.

Think you're right. But they prob wont wake it if they cant beat Dallas or if they get 2 more losses. Good chance GB this week will be one of them.

I'm with you, but I have to start three (usually Roddy White, Colston, and Harvin), with only Crabtree as my other healthy option. I have Manningham and Jacoby Ford injured. If I could get some news about Ford getting back to practice, cutting Manningham would be easy. Add that to the fact that Harvin is questionable every week, it makes it tough.

Ford is injured and OUT for this Sunday. I have a start 4 league, and I have Calvin, Bowe, Lloyd, and Cruz with Decker and SMoss on my bench. Pretty easy to cut loose Mario.

think I am holding until I get more info.....IF he is able to come back healthy at some point down the stretch and there is an injury to Nicks or Cruz, etc......he could produce......

Nicks is prone to get banged up so I'm holding too. Frustrating situation with an average player like MM eating up a roster spot.

Think I might dump him and a rb flyer for Burleson and brad smith tomorrow. Outlooks seem similar even if Mario returns. Sux because I could have tie him to Victor Cruz a long long time ago.....

Acquired him this week as a throw in in a dynasty league. What kind of landing spot are we looking at as a FA?

I dumped him and picked up J.Knox :bag:
Just did the same thing. In another league I dumped him and picked up Malcolm Floyd. Manningham and Felix Jones were my two "swing and miss" guys for this year.
It would be interesting to see how many people on this board missed on Felix AND Manningham. Seems like almost everyone was grabbing both of those guys (myself included). Fortunately, drafting Felix ended up being a godsend for me, because it caused me to get Demarco Murray, who I can now keep as a 17th rounder next season. Manningham has just been an utter disappointment.

I agree. Ending up with Demarco has been a nice consolation prize.
