Mark Clayton (1 Viewer)

Hasn't done much, and I checked my FF yahoo homepage, I see:

Mark Clayton has been dropped by 12288 teams in Yahoo! leagues
That's a wholelotta teams dropping a WR I thought would do well this year.

Think he's still bothered by an ankle injury. I'd pick him up in a heartbeat if someone dropped him.

ankle... and now the toe is apparently bothering him too.I like Clayton's talent... but i think he probably needs to take a few weeks off and heal up if he wants to help his team... he's basically been worthless thus far.

He was only questionable to play this week so he certainly isn't near 100%. I only flipped on that game off and on, but I didnt even see him targeted until late when it was close, so Im not even sure how much he played. I saw an awful lot of Demetrius Williams, so I dont think he was in much.

No way you cut a guy like him already, esp when he's not healthy. He's the dynamic kind of WR who can put up games like Moss, Edwards, and AJohnson did today. He's only my #4 WR, so I likely will never play him anyway, but I dont see anyone worth dropping him for either.

Once he's healthy, and McNair is back, he should be a very solid flex WR or #2 based on matchup/bye weeks I still think

He's talented enough to keep, but I'm in a salary cap league where keeping him costs me cap space each week (if I cut him now, I have more cap for later in the season). For that reason, I am seriously thinking of cutting him. Especially since I feel comfortable moving up Brandon Marshall into his spot as the #4 WR (start 3, with Holmes, Burress, and Holt in front). The key questions are:

1. How long will he be hurt? If it's another month before he's healthy, I think I cut him. I did the same with Hackett because I wasn't willing to wait. Does anyone have better info?

2. Is he really dynamic like Randy Moss? I don't see it. Not in that offense. Not with his talent. I see him as a great technique guy who can be a consistent #2 fantasy WR who puts up #1 stats some weeks. But I don't see him as a guy that goes for 150 and 2 TDs (unless he gets a ball tipped to him). Am I misreading his talent?

I didn't mean that he was as good as Randy Moss (neither AJ or Braylon whom I mentioned are either), but they are all gamebreaking WR's who are deep threats. Here's some of his best games from last year:5/101 - 2 TDs (62yd TD)

7/125 - 1 (65yd TD)

5/112 - 1 (87yd TD)

7/108 - 1 (35yd TD)

So no, I'm not saying he's Moss, I'm not even saying he's a Top 20 WR, I'm saying he has gamebreaking ability and putting up stats like that in year 2 is not very common. If you think Brandon Marshall, James Jones, or someone of their ilk is going to put up better numbers than him, I think you are mistaken
