Mark Ingram new knee surgery (1 Viewer)

Obviously most that have determined that he is a "bust" did not watch him last year. Anyone that watches the Saints had to know that he was going to be stuck in the mother of all committees. Simply looking at the stats don't tell the story. His expectations were way to high considering his place on the Saints.

Every other RB on the team was able to average at least 4.7 YPC while Ingram could only manage 3.9. I didn't like him coming in and he's done nothing to change my mind.

Watched every game. Given what was expected of him bust is not far off. He is very average. Sproles and Thomas were clearly better players. Even the one dimensional Ivory had more success running the ball. He is a career committee back IMO. If that turns out to be the case, he is a bust.

This is the most telling for me. Over a roughly equivalent amount of carries on 1st and 2nd downs, the discrepancies were even worse.Sproles had 70 1st/2nd down carries and average over 6 per.Thomas had over 100 carries on 1st/2nd and averaged over 5 per.Ivory had about 70 and averaged over 5 per.Ingram had about 100 and averaged 3.6 per. This sure looks like a case of a great team making a decent back look great in college. It also looks like the combine measurables in this case might have actually indicated something. He's not big, not fast, not explosive, and not even that "quick". Can't be too shocked that he doesn't look like a man among boys in the NFL.

:goodposting: This is what all of the "haters" were saying...when they were actually realists.

I thought he made some pretty nice runs honestly
When he was healthy I thought he looked pretty good. It's certainly way to early to give up on him. If you're an owner you should hold as the buying price is going to be at rock bottom and nobody is going to give you squat for him.
I don't know about that. His value certainly isn't where it was, but there are still some believers. Might be time to cash in with one of them if you can. "Not much" is better than nothing if you believe what you saw last year is the real deal.
