Mark Ingram (2 Viewers)

You mean the week before last, right? Hightower was 5/39 and 1/5 receiving vs KC. I'm not sure Lasco logged a snap.

Lasco did get more carries than Hightower in WK 6 vs CAR -- 2/5 on the ground and 1/4 in the air, and did seem to have the same number of carries against SD, but before that Lasco wasn't used in the running game.

Whether this was because of injury or not, seems to me that Hightower is the safer handcuff, as that's exactly what he was in the situation where Ingram went down last year. And he was fairly effective (if not spectacular) in that role.
Yes, sorry, still thinking of last Sunday as this wrk since this week hasn't happened yet.

:)

It wasn't clear until the hammy injury to Lasco. Now it's more clear.

Glad I benched him today, but this sucks going forward. Just hoping this lights a fire under his ###, as his schedule looks pretty good going forward.

Hightower couldn't punch it in on a couple of tries from the 1.  But 14 first half carries. #### YOU PAYTON

Payton is one of those guys who thinks he's the smartest in the room. I'm starting to think there's something to the rumor Ingram was mad at his usage in the Chargers game and Payton is pissed at Ingram. Mark never should've re-signed in New Orleans.

The puzzling thing about Mark Ingram's being (seemingly) pulled for a fumble is that he has five fumbles (three lost) in his entire six-year career. Tim Hightower has nine (seven lost) in his 44 career starts, including one today.

This is what I don't get. Using high tower like a horse but never like that with ingram. It makes no sense.

Absolutely mind boggling.
I know it's dumb but... it feels like he's sticking it to Ingram. I know it makes no sense and it makes me sound like a mad Fantasy football player... but the evidence doesn't exactly exonerate Sean.

3rd down,  Hightower stuffed

1st and Goal...

Run for Hightower. No gain.

Run to Hightower, lost yards.

Watching HIghtower get chance after chance after chance inside the five...and NOT convert any of those chances, is just a kick to the side while still writhing on the ground from the nut kick

It's not even that they bench him (I mean, that's strange enough).  But now they are using Hightower like they should have been using Ingram the whole time....and Hightower keeps getting stopped.

Yeah - 1 yard and a cloud of dust. FFS, they're gonna bench him the whole game for 1 fumble against one of the best run defenses in the league?

At this point, it's a good chance Peyton being petty with his veteran RB will cost his team the game.
The thing is I don't think that it even matters.  Is Payton on the hot seat at all?  They should be much better but his play calling in games is baffling.  They're up big on teams but constantly keep throwing and that just lets teams back into the games.  When they're down they run the ball a ton and take way too much time to try and get back into the game.
