Mark Ingram (7 Viewers)

I guess I'm not in my right mind because I started him in 2 leagues and also had Hightower, Smallwood, Powell and either Asiata or McKinnon to choose from. So I guess it depends on how you define "legit".  Many apparently started Hightower over him. I was going to do that, but swapped out a couple hours before the game because Ingram said he was fine, he got cleared and he's the guy I spent a 2nd round pick on in one league and traded for in another. So I chose to live and die with my top player over the backup who might get play.

That's ok - I'll take my "wrong mind" 31.7 points to the bank. ;)
Hill, Blount, Jennings, Gurley......or Ingram off concussion.

Hill, Blount, Jennings, Gurley......or Ingram off concussion.
Off concussion with 10 days rest....Hill on a decimated Bengals offense in a tough matchup against Baltimore, Jennings in a RBBC, and Gurley who's sucked all year and had 1 halfway decent game.  I can't fault you for starting who you did, but I certainly don't think those are 3 locked and loaded studs.

fwiw, in my league with standard scoring non-ppr he is #10 in fantasy points for all RB's. Plus the stats gianmarco posted above. Consistency being the obvious problem, the ceiling is too good to pass up every week. we'll have to live or die with him  through the fantasy playoffs.

the new concern now is whether Saints care to win in week 16. Need wash, TB, and minnesota to fall on their faces for the next three weeks so the saints aren't eliminated before the end of their week 16 game if you make it that far in your respective playoffs.

Yeah he is RB11 in my league but the average PPG is misleading due to extreme variance. He posts a string of turds including negative points before scoring 30 when he's on your bench. I'll let someone else draft him next year.

Ingram missed today's practice with a toe injury. May be just veteran rest, but the toe thing kind of happened out of nowhere.

Just when we were all saying such nice things about him, too.

Hopefully he's either 1. Fine or 2. Out.

if he's out then Hightower is my RB2 & Snead moves to Flex, if he's in, Snead is benched.

anything in between "fine" and "out" is a headache.

I just read that he played through it on Sunday. That makes me feel a lot better.

If it happened during practice I'd be a lot more concerned. Sounds like a maintabence day Wednesday.
Sidelined at practice again today. Still may be giving him the rest, but may be leaving him on the bench this weekend if he isn't 100%.

Madenning.

Start him -- Gets concussion. Looks dead on the field.

Next week. Late active. Bench him. He goes nuts.

This week. Not practicing. Will probably get in a limited practice on Friday, no news other than active by 11:45 EST. Start him. He leaves game in 1st quarter.

I hate this guy.

  again.

luckily I've got options if he's out. Hell, its almost better since I can get Snead in, with Hightower the 25 carry guy that Payton so very much wants him to be.

Or they'll both play. We'll see.

Still no word on if he's practicing?

You can't even get info on this guy as is normal for others.

Hate hate hate this guy.

Hope he's ruled out so I can just plug in Hightower.

But that sure as hell will not happen.

Just heard on NFL Insiders John Clayton say that he is expected to play, but the Saints expect Hightower to get more action.

Not what I was wanting to hear needing a win this week to make the playoffs. Guess he's going to my bench. Welcome to the ones that start him as I'm sure he will blow up like he has the last two times I've sat him.

Clayton is a bum. Don't trust him. Would love somebody like Schefter and/or Rapapport confirming.

I've got both Ingram and Hightower. Ideally there is enough evidence to lean strongly in one direction or the other.

Lol. It gets better!

I love this guy!

Despite returning to practice Friday, Mark Ingram (toe) was noncommittal when asked about his Week 13 availability.
"We'll see," said Ingram, adding that his Wednesday and Thursday absences from practice were due to "soreness" in the toe. Ingram said the toe "felt good" during Friday's practice. Still, it's conceivable his role is scaled back a bit on Sunday, with Tim Hightower shouldering more of the load. Reports on Ingram's toe will be worth monitoring closely into Sunday morning.

I'm not sure how that's different than last week - they both played, Hightower had more touches. Ingram was more productive.

So Clayton is saying nothing.

The best thing that dude ever did was the metal head sportscenter commercial.

Ok just read all the updates. Sounds like he wasn't limited in practice, so that's a great sign.

ingram said he sat out due to "soreness" in the toe.

that's sounding pretty minor in my opinion.

Im guessing we see the same split we'be been seeing and both RBs should eat. Brees will keep the lanes open and the Lions are gonna get run over when the Saints do hand it off.

ive got both Ingram (RB2) & Hightower (Flex) in my lineup along with Brees & Thomas.  Saints gonna rack up some points early and unlike last week they may take the foot off the gas if they get way up.

I'm rolling with Ingram at RB & Hightower at Flex. Just too much upside to bench him here.

while some have commented on DET's not having given up a lot of RuTds, they have been gashed on the ground, and are missing their best tackler Tahir Whitehead. Add to that multiple nagging injuries to some of their top DL/LB & a trip to the super dome, and oh yeah - the fact that they always seem to lose after Thanksgiving....all seems to bode well for the Saints running game.

Of course I just jinxed it, so.... :P

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Mark Ingram (toe) is expected to play Week 13 against the Lions.

Ingram was non-committal about his availability on Friday, but he did say the toe "felt good" during Friday's practice. Still, he could be forced into a more limited role because of the injury. Even in a good matchup, Ingram is a risky RB2 play. Tim Hightower deserves a look in the FLEX.

Appreciate the Schefty update but it's about as non-committal as Ingram statement about his availability.  Perhaps more will come out as we approach kickoff.

Actually no - It says he's going to play. That's definitive. What more could come out? A report that says, "he'll play, and will receive exactly 17 carries and 4 receptions" followed by a personal email from Ingram telling you "put me in your lineup, Dave."

(I'm assuming your name is Dave. I don't know why)

its only the rotoworld 'sperts saying to be cautious.

I get two take-always from it: 1. He'll play, 2. He said he felt good Fridsy (thats new)

LOL, know I'm not named Dave.  However, I'm quite confident in saying you need to seek some help if my post resulted in this much anger/frustration on your part.

I'm not angry or frustrated in the slightest. I was  actually in quite a good mood when I posted that. I'm not sure why you would read into it that I was angry or frustrated… Just replying to your comment with what I thought was a humorous take.

Try not to read into it too much.

I'm beginning to think that Rotoworld purposely inserts subtle messages to make owners panicky so they will continue to click, click, click. It's a perfect strategy for traffic with the drama queen fantasy football society.

Good call here.

Click bait / SEO is not a bad strategy for a site that has banner ads. Tried & true. It's why you see so many Thrilllist and Buzzfeed hot sauce articles called "the top 5 sauces in the world!" and it's Tabasco, Sriracha, Tapatio, Franks, etc.

gets everyone to click on it, then generates 10000 angry comments from (sane) people who post their disagreement.

So safe to say that all you non-drama queens who have properly called Ingrams blow up weeks and avoided his busts are starting him today right?

Definitely starting both Ingram (RB2) and Hightower (flex).

However while incorrectly called his blow up weeks, i had him in for the benching (-.5 points) and concussion (10 points) so I make no claims as to being psychic.

I think both backs are a good start this week though - DET with a depleted defense and likely a depleted receiving corps sets up well for getting up early and running the clock. That said, Payton doesn't always make sense with his in-game strategy.

Just a side thought, but the personal attacks seems unproductive to the topic.

I could start both as well, just can't bring myself to do it.

Have Booker in over Hightower right now.

Personal attacks on a fantasy football forum are for the weak.

Good man.

Was wondering if you were going to put your stake in the ground since you seem to have nailed Ingram's peaks and valleys and avoided frustration.
I'll be honest with you, I don't have a feeling that it's going to be a blow up kind of day. But, I don't think it's going to be a valley either. I'm feeling like this will be one of his more moderate days, but I don't feel great enough about some of my other options to take him out of my line-up. Barring injury, I'm riding Ingram from here on out.

I also heard that Ingram played through this toe thing last week, so there's that.

I'd take one of his middling performances where he goes 16-60-0; 4-22.

I can live with that.
