Maroney vs Morris (1 Viewer)

What about his durability issues BostonFred??....Two years in a row guys in their 30s have been able to stay on the field while he has not...I think this has "frustrated" the Maroney owners almost as much as the lack of TDs so far.

He's had unrelated injuries, none with the knees, and the team is playing it safe with him. Maroney is a good play when healthy, and Morris is an even better play when Maroney is out which makes the pair more valuable than the sum of its parts. It was also good news that we knew before the Monday night game that Maroney was out - yes, it would be nicer if we knew a week in advance, but at least it looks like you'll know in time to set your lineup. But I'd obviously prefer to get the two of them together than to have just one. Playing Maroney the first three weeks and Morris the last week has given me 369 yards and a TD, plus another two catches for 15 yards. For a player that's supposed to be pretty disappointing so far, that's not bad, even though I'd have been better off starting Morris each week. That's a very results oriented way of looking at it, though - just because Morris has outperformed Maroney so far, doesn't mean he will continue to do so. Going forward, I expect the combination of Maroney if healthy, Morris if hurt to be good for another 1000+ yards and 8 TDs over the final 12 games. That kind of production assumes an uptick in Maroney's TDs, but I've posted my reasoning for that. It also assumes that the pair produces at lower than their current 92 yard per game average. A combo that gets 1400/9 TDs is pretty valuable, as is the fact that it includes the handcuff, yet there are people here talking about not being able to give either one of the players away. This is a great time to try to pick up both, IMO.
