Marques Colston: buy low? (1 Viewer)

I'm really tempted to trade a certain injury-prone RB who's playing out of his mind right now but whose numbers will likely decline after September ... for Colston, who obviously is off to a lackluster start this season due to problems throughout the Saints offense. Who thinks Colston is a tremendous buy-low candidate, and who thinks it's not worth the risk to go get him due to McAllister's torn ACL, Brees' inaccuracy, and terrible O-line play?

looking forward to the replies. I was planning on doing the same thing. Coslton owner is willing to deal, so I think I can manage a pretty good deal.

I would assume you are referring to Foster....but until Brees gains a little confidence, I don't see you getting much out of Colston.

Maybe re-draft, but in dynasty...GOOD LUCK. I'm a Colston owner (Dynasty) and his value to me as not changed a bit.

I thought that he was referring to Cadillac.
Colston and Cadillac had almost the same value and ADP in 12 man leagues prior to the season and the Saints stinking up the joint.... now that Colston has underperformed and Cadillac has remained steady enough, I would think Colston shouldn't command that much.

Sounds to me like he's talking about Jordan.

Bingo. Whadaya think? (Unfortunately in my league, LaMont isn't garnering much interest on the trade market. Plus my roster situation is such that I'm patching together decent but not great WRs for my lineup each week, while I've got more than enough upper echelon RBs to choose from.)

;) hes put up half decent numbers despite miserable offensive production from the Saints. His value hasnt changed yet for me either

back in April I traded colston for portis in dynasty. just shows how low portis value WAS and how high colston value WAS

I like Colston to turn it around this season. The guy is a baller, but the NO offense has been bad. I think they have hit a funk, but they can still turn it around offensively. Once they calm down and develop a gameplan that works, things should start clicking again. And even while you wait for it happens, Colston is still putting decent numbers in the meantime.

That said, in a redraft league I wouldn't trade Lamont Jordan for the guy. Jordan is playing out of his mind right now and that type of move is just stupid, not a buy low at all.

:goodposting: To the contrary - the fact that he has put up passable WR3 numbers given how awful NO offense has been just shows he pretty much will see decent production regardless. As the season progresses and NO gets on track (I think their offense will start to pick it up after they regroup this week on the bye) - Colston should see his numbers climb. One of the things that is a little frustrating is NO reluctance to go deep recently. But again, they will make corrections over the by week.

In a dynasty I would be looking to buy low bigtime if there are any takers. Colston is a great player and will be a force again this season and in the future. The Saints should be able to turn things around.

What a strange trip this season has been so far.

For what it's worth, the Colston owner in my dynasty league just traded him away, and not for much in my opinion. I haven't checked the numbers myself to see if this is accurate or not, but he said he just wasn't sold on Colston. Said he didn't do much the second half of last year and doesn't look any better at the start of this year.

I would go after him...with McCallister gone, Reggie Bush sucking and Devery sucking Colston is becoming one of the few dependable options on this offense.

Of course, it always depends on what you have to give up.

Sad how people were panicking this off-season regarding Portis and the supposed RBBC that was going to take place. All they had to do was ask any real 'Skins fan...they'd tell them that RBBC or the Betts hype is a joke. Nice deal for you!
