Marshawn Lynch OFFICIALY not on the block... (1 Viewer)

The Rotoworld blurb to this story links to a Schefter article from BEFORE the Jets/Bills game, fwiw. Not that you can make any hasty calls from just one game, but I don't think it's a stretch to say that Lynch went from a "hold" to a "sell" simply based on the outcome of this one game. Even taking the pulse of the Bills on their message board, they were in favor of keeping Lynch prior to Week 4, but their collective outlook has changed after this past week to a group that now seems to understand that the only way to right the ship is to stockpile picks - or trade Lynch.

It's such a no-brainer that I guess it wouldn't surprise me to see the Bills actually keep him! :)

The Bills sitting on Lynch when they have F Jax and Spiller is just about the dumbest thing I have seen in a long time....they are going nowhere and can probably get a decent pick for him...what are they thinking? And no Im not a Lynch owner!

Could also be pure PR BS to either keep Lynch trying to play at a high level or maximize his trade value? Lynch really doesn't seem to be in the long term plans of the Bills and makes too much sense for them to try and build other areas that they are weak at (offensive line, cough cough). Plus, I can't count the number of times a coach, GM, or owner has said a player is not going to be traded- only to trade him a short time later. Just like when they give a coach the "dreaded vote of confidence" and two days later he gets his walking papers.

The Buffalo Bills are a complete joke of a franchise. They should have shut down the entire operation after Jim Kelly retired.

They can't trade Lynch. They don't want to overwork Jackson and Spiller by increasing their workloads from 3 carries each to 5 carries each.

They refused to entertain offers for Trent Edwards this off-season too. If they follow team protocol then Lynch will be released by week 12.

Why would the Bills tell anyone outside their org. what they want or don't want to do? These reports are worthless in my opinion. We'll know what they want to do when a trade is announced or the deadline passes.

This announcement only leads me to want to hold on all Buffalo RBs. This feels completely like the type of talk that happens right before a move. The Pack did nothing this week to prove that they are anything but desperate for a RB.

The Bills could not make a smart personel decision if they had to. They will hold on to Lynch and not upgrade any of the many holes on their team.

I could see this. It's frustrating as Lynch is a definite drop candidate if he remains on the Bills but if he were to get traded, he could be very useful. All the while people hold Lynch and watch guys like Torain and Hillis get picked up off the wire.

They're either incompetent, or this is the public stance as part of negotiations to get a better draft pick out of the deal.

Time will tell which is right.

This is only an option if the demands come down. A starting O lineman and a 2nd round pick is not even a considertation for Green Bay. Not going to happen.Besides that, Green Bay ran the ball well to put that game away against Detroit. It can be done if they commit to it.

Why not trade Lee Evans? I'm sure there are teams out there that could make some use of a receiver with good hands and deep speed. They have no use since they don't have a QB on the roster.

I would literally begin blowing up this team. I'd trade everyone except Spiller, Poz, Flowers, and just try and rebuild this from the ground up.

First move should be firing Gailey though. That could come fairly soon. Not like the dude has been successful anywhere lately:

Cowboys: Never won a playoff game

Ga Tech: Responsible for the "Reggie Ball" years, best year was in 2006 when he ended the season with three straight losses to UGA, Wake Forest, and UVA. Fired the following year after winning only 7 games.

Chiefs: OC for the Chiefs, and even got demoted there in 09 preseason.

Bills: 0-4 thus far

Why anyone thinks Gailey is any good at coaching is one of the stranger things in football. If you're the Cowboys coach and your biggest achievment is winning the NFC East you suck. If you coach in the ACC and can't be competitive you suck. IF you become the OC for the worst offensive team in the league and you suck so bad you can''t improve on WORST, you suck. His hire and the fanfare that went along with it has to be one of the biggest headscratchers of all.

I agree, sounds like the Bills are trying to get more in return by stating they are not going to trade him.

The Bills have to stop acting like he's some hot POA at a mixer and just get what they can for him and move on. He's not that good, he's only going to look worse by playing in their crap offense, and they should take a 3rd and a 4th and move on. Then see what you can get for Evans from the Vikes. I bet they would give a 3rd and a backup oline. You improve your oline, rack up two extra thirds and a fourth when you're already staring down the #1 overall, plus you get enough oline depth to possibly begin establishing a solid run game with Spiller and Jackson.

Lynch and Evans are the only two pieces on this team that other teams need, and neither one will win them a single game this year.
