Marvel Cinematic Universe - Fantastic Four - No Homework Required (1 Viewer)

Watched the last episode of Loki again last night. It really stinks that they are moving on from Majors and Kang (I understand why).

I think Loki and Majors could have made the MCU interesting going forward. Majors is such a good actor. Him and Loki seems to have a really unique chemistry. I rewatched their exchange in the final episode about 4 times.
I think that was the part I was most disappointed about. You could tell that scene was a way to make Majors go away. Kind of one of those, hey we found this and I guess it was X all along. It definitely felt like a last minute change.

What’s confusing? Majors very possibly going away or the old video showing that Kang wasn’t really the leader and Renslayer was so they can move on from Kang as the main bad guy.
Kang wasn’t really the leader?
Did you watch when they left Renslayer at the end of time with Ms. minutes and Ms. Minutes showed Renslayer that she was really the leader of the army, not Kang?
Huh?
When the season started we got some details that Renslayer and Kang worked together. The video at the end IMHO made it seem like Renslayer was the leader of their army and much more influential. I think they amped that up more than the comics so that Renslayer could take over the void that potentially occurs if all the rumors are correct that Kang is being shelved so to speak.
I think you completely misinterpreted
Maybe I did, but that still made me think that way, especially with all the fun going on with Kang Dynasty.
Well, I’m not so sure I misinterpreted that video that Ms. Minutes showed Renslayer. I definitely think they pushed it further than the comics in the very real probability that Majors would be gone.

Well, given that variants don't all look the same, they can pretty easily recast and say the events of Loki had something to do with that too.
They definitely could. They have several outs to use a poker term. I still do think that the little video setup a few more options. I don’t think they were ready to concede until they knew Majors was definitely out. They can build around Renslayer if they want or recast. They could also use Loki’s position to just make Kang go away completely.

It was inferred that Renslayer was killed by that beast thing at the End of Time.

Implied?

I don't believe that to be the case. Just as the Lokis were able to survive, her fate remains unknown.

We signed up with one of the credit card deals where we get like $7 back for $25 bundle of D+, Hulu and ESPN. I’m not entirely sure they’re worth $18 but there would be a rebellion if we canceled Disney +.

Disney + is increasing rates to $15/month. Their content and quality has dropped so we will be cancelling soon.
Holy **** no way
I am seeing it is still 13.99 for premium and 7.99 for basic
I cancelled this year after being one of the pre-order signups. Price was too high since we had seen all the content after Loki season 2. My son really missed it so I gave him a yearlong sub of the Ads version for $8 a month. Worth it at that price but these subs are getting too high.

I watched 3 episodes of Echo last night and I'm not really sure what to think of this series as it's only 5 episodes and the first 3 felt really short. On top of that I thought the first 2 were pretty slow, so far it's been disappointing.

i am through 2 episodes of echo and it is good but not hitting with me like other series have so far i normally rewatch these and get more into them the second time so we will see if that is the case this time take that to the bank brohans

Short? These feel longer than any other series!

They actually are longer by quite a bit.

It’s been alright but could be better. The spotlights haven’t done it for me.

Finished Echo last night, not up there with Wandavision or Loki, probably next tier for me with Hawkeye. Was initially bummed it was only five episodes, but think that was all that was needed to tell her origin story and essentially one story in "present time".

Working my way through the What If...? season, I really just see those as fun distractions. I'm into it, but it's interesting how they've leaned into the Native American angle so heavily both with Echo and the Kahhori episode.

We made it about 10 minutes into Echo before my spouse hit the eject button. I can't blame her though I'll go back and give it more of a chance on my own. Maybe the weirdest opening 3 minutes of any show I've ever seen.

Yes. It got better. I wanted to fast forward through the first few minutes of each episode. It kind of comes together later.
Fully expect the anti-woke mafia to be upset about this show.

I enjoyed Echo. I am curious what they do with it because it was supposed to be more stand alone under the "Spotlight". Maybe that just meant you didn't need to watch other shows/movies for the background on the character? I liked the use of the scenes from Hawkeye's show to give that history for her. The overlay with the Choctaw women was odd.

Excellent fight scene with Daredevil!

Looks like Foggy and Karen will be back :excited:
So happy about this. Hoping the rework on the show makes it good. Them coming back and the credit scene in the Echo finale have some potential to make it great.

He is important to DD. And the three actors worked together well. Add in some Punisher.....
I like how Netflix used him and Rosario Dawson like the Marvel used Colson to tie the characters together.

From what I have seen after Echo are the comic book fans really wanting this to lead into Daredevil bringing most of the Netflix characters into the MCU. Their grand wish being Spider-Man 4 having the team up of all of them vs Kingpen. Maybe some Deadpool too....

Just watched the first episode, it was a bit of a slog.

the last episode of echo has a very powerful scene with who and what she is starting about 12 55 in that may be one of the best i think ive seen in a marvel show and up there with captain marvels keep getting up when you get knocked down scene take that to the bank bromigos

It will be tough to size up to those Netflix productions.

I watched the first episode of Echo and then forgot about it. Not terrible I guess, but like who cares? Not sure how they get “it” back. I was going to watch The Marvels now that it is streaming if it has anything to add to the overall story. But meh

Watched the marvels over the weekend, fun movie but like many have said, far too many holes or things that didn’t make sense. The flerkins scene was ridiculous.

I still haven't watched the Marvels yet, it is the only MCU besides the Eternals that I didn't go to the theater for. I haven't seen all of Kamala's TV show so I feel like I should watch that first.

I watched the first episode of Echo, and didn't like it. It was slow and the acting wasn't very good. I feel somewhat obligated to make it through but not looking forward to it.

I'm slow watching What If season 2 and have enjoyed each of them. I just watched the Captain Carter episode. Those are really well done in my opinion.

I'm glad to see Kang Dynasty is still on tap. It always seemed so obvious that the multiverse angle gave them an easy out to recast Majors.

Deadpool vs Wolverine should be one of the best things the MCU has done since Endgame, excited for it!

yeah the flerkin scene was totally more ridiculous than when thor rides in on a magic rainbow beam or when ironman has a metal suit that can form around him from nothing when he is falling and way more unbelievable than a surgeon guy who can make holes in the universe by waiving his hands around take that to the bank brohan

Ms Marvel is more directed at the youth, but I did enjoy it. I don't think you need to watch in order to enjoy The Marvels though. They do a decent job of explaining in the movie for those that haven't watched. Sure you might have a better idea going in but not totally needed. Same if you hadn't seen WandaVision.

I thought The Marvels was fun. Watched again last week and laughed throughout. Mid tier Marvel movie.

Why?

He's the OP of a 153 page thread about Marvel Cinematic Universe, so he kind of does have to watch them all - its what he signed up for.
It's a moral imperative.
He's a real genius that one.
