Marvin Harrison is going to do what this year? (1 Viewer)

do what THIS YR?? I am not talking a few years from now, only this year!

Thoughts: He no longer is the #1 guy in Indi, but being that he is not, he should get easier coverage his way. I am thinking 70-80 catches & 8td. A.Gonzo is a 'perfect' slot guy, who will require attention. In addition to the attention Wayne will receive, Marvin should shine! As for the injuries, he did have one mast year, but he is not an injury prone guy. However, he is not getting any younger...

Actually I thought Gonzo was the perfect replacement for Harrison. I am a huge Harrison fan and have owned him almost every season, but last season was a disaster. I hate to see him go out like he did but something's definitely not right with him, and it was damn frustrating keeping him on my roster last season wondering when or if he'd make it back. His age is a huge factor and he may well have hit the wall. Even if he is deemed "ready" to play next year it very possible he misses time and/or doesn't finish games. I think the best play is to target Gonzo a little later in your draft, because he looked pretty good at times in Harrison's spot. Gonzo was also dinged at times, but he's much younger, showed chemistry with Manning, and has Wayne and Clark to draw attention from him. He also might be a great value pick, especially if it looks like Harrison will give it a go next season. At this point it would be shocking to me if Harrison bounced back and played the whole season at or near his old level.

FYI, not sure if this will be anything unexpected.

I live in South Jersey (Marlton), saw Marvin Harrison yesterday at a party place for kids. He was riding a scooter. He drove it to his car but when he got up he had a noticeable limp. Nothing where he needed crutches just a little gimpy. I thought it was odd for him to be limping still.

It's hard to project without knowing the extent of his injury, but for a guy that's always relied on his separation ability, any impairment in his ability to go full strength (never mind being another year older) can't be a good thing.

That does not sound good, especially since the "bounce house" is pretty forgiving on the knees.

Marvin will be a classic high risk/high reward type player this year. Marvins ADP will be quite a bit lower than in the past, but if he comes back 100% I see no reason he does not get 1000 with 8-10 TDs.

Thanks for the info, too bad, I'm probably going to dump him based on this report...

me too....... inside info...it does not get much better than this..... ......by the way I saw......nevermind

I will be watching his health status very closely. The bottom line is that if he is 100%, he will be the #1 WR in Indy whether Wayne likes it or not. That makes him worth the risk, depending on the price...

No need for me to lie. I stopped playing Fantasy for 2 years now because of a bad Commissioner who happened to be family. Whether you drop him or not is of no concern to me. I am not trying to stir up anything, just thought it would be interesting to some. When I wrote it, I was like what person would believe that. I understand totally. Take it for what it is I guess. There was no fanfare, he was about 3 feet away and looked at me; after I took a longer look to make sure I was not crazy, and basically just tended to his own business. I am not friends with him, family, or anything else. I don't know someone who knows someone who knows someone. He did not want to be bothered and you could tell. I do not get star struck, but I was shocked to see him in NJ. Especially at this place. The name of the place is called "Pump it Up" It is on 10 Stow road in Marlton NJ. Maybe they will or maybe they won't verify he was there. I don't have a clue. It was just odd to see anyone who was not a Philadelphia Eagle, Sixer, or Phillie in this area. Plus this guy is a HOF'er. No need for me to even mention except that he was on a scooter and when he got up the limp was noticeable. That is what I wanted to point out. He was still limping which I definitely found odd. My first thought was I thought he would have been healed by now. I would not even had taken a second look but I wondered why a guy on a scooter would be wearing brand new Jordans, and a Jordan sweatsuit as well. I am sure some do, but it was extemely out of the norm for some reason. Then I looked again as I rode by and said wow how strange is that for him to be here. I parked, stood outside helping to take in some presents and stuff for my nephew's party and he came back out, looked again at me and my family, said excuse me, scooted over to his truck, hopped into a white Range Rover and went about his business. Quiet, no large entourage. Just a short guy with balding hair was with him. There was no conversation or handshake. He just stared back briefly and left. Listen, I am not looking for anything. I found that when I played Fantasy that this type of information was helpful. I definitely want to get back in it and just thought I would share this information. As I said take it anyway you want to. Personally my word means more to me than anything else. I frequent this site and stay up on things. Thought this one would be interesting.

What kind of scooter? The kind you stand on and push with your feet or an electric one? What is Pump it Up?...is that a gym?

He'll never be 100% of what he was in his late 20's/early 30's, and he isn't ever going to be the #1 in Indi again. Even Jerry Rice, who had some solid years at 35+ was never what he was when he was younger.Rice's best year at 35+ was 1,200 yards and he never had double digit TD's, and were talking about one of the best if not best conditioned atheletes EVER.

I'll be shocked if Harrison ever breaks 1k yards again, and it won't surprise me one bit to see him retire.

Pump It Up is a kids' play place with a bunch of bouncy houses, inflatable slides, obstacle courses. Oddly enough, I attended a 4 year old's birthday party this weekend at a Pump It Up in Oakland.

Not a hint of steroids in the palce...despite the proximity to BALCO.

Not the model an elderly person would drive, not bulky. I actually thought maybe it was a newer model. Electric, moved pretty fast; obviously very easy to pack up, as he hopped up, the person with him packed it in with ease. The color was red/maroon. As I said not bulky. No basket, Chair seemed smaller.

Oh, you got the wrong guy then, the short balding guy is Harrison, the other guy must be someone else

Retire.........and ride off into the sunset. This guy has his life in perspective and doesn't need football to validate him as a person, man, and father. I don't see him continuing much longer and I would not be the least bit surprised if he calls it quits before the upcoming NFL draft. One man's opinion, no insider info or anything........

It's still June 1st, but teams now have like 3 or 4 guys they can designate as "early June cuts" or something. Where they get cut right away, but are treated like a June 1st cut for salary cap reasons. Reiterating that from memory. If I get time I'll find an official link. Think they started that about 2 or 3 seasons ago.

Count me amongst the retire camp. I don't see him returning to glory. The way his injury lingered and from the whispers I've heard/read, he wasn't in any hurry to get back out there or play again last year. I think he's done. If I'm wrong, good for the Colts and Harrison. A great WR and a HOFer.

Hey guys, he is on the level.

Earlier in the day a security camera in the parking lot showed Marvin driving the scooter to Pump it Up. He doesn't seem to have a limp, but this couldn't help his rehab progress.
