Matt Flynn about to be traded (1 Viewer)

Since all the common sense says raiders, I am going to say it is the BILLS and the compensation will be a 6th that can add something next year if certain productivity is met.
Pretty good chance the Bills QB vacancy is all but filled, and it won't be Flynn.

Sirius XM Radio's Adam Caplan reports the Raiders have "discussed the possibility" of signing free agent Kevin Kolb.
If I were a Raider fan, I would much prefer this than giving up a pick for Flynn. They're both stopgap QBs. OAK only has 3 picks in top 170. Can't afford to give them up.
What makes you think that Flynn is a stopgap? He's not old. And he lost out to a pretty darn impressive rookie. The last game he started was historic.
Agree completely.
Stopgap might not have been the correct term, but do you think he's capable of leading a team to the playoffs? I don't.
Based on?
If he was thought highly of by the league, he would have received a lot more interest than he did.

If he was thought highly of by the league and actual NFL teams, he would have received a lot more interest than he did.

Two teams have traded for him now with the idea to have him start for them at quarterback. I don't think teams generally do this if they don't think the guy can lead them to a playoff game.Just say you don't know, it's okay.

This is just silly. We haven't even seen him play. Scott Mitchell led a team to the playoffs. So did Rex Grossman.

Well since you say so without any reasoning, I'm all in.
It's clowns like this who keep good info off the board. I'll just continue PM ing 90% of my info to the group who actually contribute info and like receiving info, and leave you to ruining threads with smart### comments. Good luck

People need to simmer down.

I don't know if Flynn can win the Super Bowl. I do know he's more appealing than Palmer or Pryor and while I think a second round player like bray or Wilson has similar potential, I see no fault on taking on a guy who has shown nfl ability and knows the league. People greatly underestimate the "act like a professional" part of pro sports. Lots of talented guys never figure it out. Is Flynn the most talented guy available? No. But like smith he is a somewhat known quantity and the team doesn't need to worry about him sleeping through practice or being late to film sessions. When trying to turn around a bad franchise, every little thing helps.

Flynn could be a breath of fresh air, too bad I am not wild about the coaching staff there and also the fact Oakland doesn't seem able to develop a QB, almost like they don't know how so I am concerned that Flynn might not make it to the next level there.

Actually the Raiders have had great success bringing in veteran QB's for example Gannon. Where the Raiders have the problem is developing QB's they actually drafted.

They have called, but not probable that Kolb goes there.
Knows things, again.

He new about Kolb? Is he in his entourage or something. lolUmmm, is Kolb someone of value to know something about anyways?

He is a useless NFL quarterback lucky enough to sign with a third team after the other two made a mistake with him.

Of course he's going to be good - he's studied behind two 1st ballot HOF'ers.

G-King is contributing more to this board than either of you knuckleheads.

I think Seattle deserves some props for trading Flynn and giving him the chance to compete in Oak, certainly his future in Seattle was over once Wilson showed what he is capable of.

I think Flynn can still make an impact. He was in GB's system and I think Seattle saw something in him as well. They brought in Wilson to compete, I doubt they knew they had a potential franchise QB on their hands on draft day.

Agreed. Phenix has been voted off. G-King advances to the next round.

Your right, his knowledge of Kevin Kolb helps so many.

What does he contribute? That? Info on Kolb? To be honest I rather know nothing then inside info on Kolb, its virtually the same thing.

Kolb is useless in all walks of football, he is not a starter and should be watching the games on Sunday with us. He will be soon enough.

Maybe...and probably more than you too.

Does not change that he came off like he was up on some high horse with the responses in this thread.

It helps more people than your 1,327 posts with no useful info.

Raiders are going to ended up calling it off and sign Kolb
Ummmmmmm, you been under a rock lately?
guess I missed the Easter update;

after reading that article I give the Raiders credit for stalling and trying, but i see no reason why Flynn would take a pay cut or restructure to go QB one of the worst run teams in the league. Just Back up Wilson for next 2 yrs, earn 12+ mil and be a FA again when your 29.... life is good for Matt Flynn

Nope, so again there you go again thinking you know everything.

Glazer's reporting that deal is done for Flynn, two picks (one in 2014 and one in 2015) Both picks are later round.

I like the move, he is cheaper then Palmer and was supposed to be the starter in Seattle, but Wilson proved to be studly.

He shouldnt be any worse then Palmer, and maybe a bit better as he has something to play for. Palmer is a quitter.

So if Raiders get anything for Palmer essentially they swap out Palmer for Flynn at half the price and just about no draft picks given up? Good deal imo

Flynn should have a floor of 4000 / 25TDs
I'm going to vote no on this as a floor. Floor should be that the team sucks balls and they choose not to play Flynn at all through half of the season. Floor should be virtually no fantasy contribution at all.

Palmer did put up QB2ish numbers even if most of it was garbage time; Flynn should have a floor of 4000 / 25TDs
That floor is crazy high....... You could be as well
Palmer had over 4000 and 22 last yr / in 2011 he had over 2300 and 11 in half a season; so Palmer's previous stats should be the floor for the better QB, not that crazy. Seriously, lossing DHB and Myers is going to prevent that?

Flynn might become a better QB than recent version of Palmer, but to say that the floor for a QB who has never been a starter in 5 years should be 4k yards and 25 TDs is ridiculous.

1- It's not a given that Flynn is the better QB.

2- I don't think you understand the concept of what a "floor" means.
