I think that Lewis' injury will really stunt his development this season. TE is a hard enough position to master as a rookie as it is (See Gonzales), without being behind the developmental curve because of injury.Until proven differently, I think Greg Jones is your goalline focus in Jax this year. Del Rio is a pretty conservative coach, and if he can get it in the endzone by smashing it in with G. Jones, I think that is his preference.

Didn't Tice like the Moss jump ball even though he had Moe Williams to pound it in? Moe Williams>Greg Jones @ Goal Line.Matt Jones 6'6", 40" vertical leap = TD madness! I know Tice is not HC, but he will get Del Rio's ear for offensive ideas, no?
6'5'' Leftwich throwing to them the ball for a team that prides itself on a power running game.
Someone is going to have a 1 on 1 mismatch every play.
Not a lot of talk about this, but Jacksonville may be on to something here. Has there ever been a lineup like this? The tallest corner in the AFC South is 6'2'' Andre Woolfolk who is expected to play nickelback. Jacksonville has the second tallest in 6'1'' Rashean Mathis. After that, you got 6' Marlin Jackson. Players will be giving up too much size to these guys in jumpball situations.
I am really curious as to if this was by design or dumb luck and if they will really have a lot of success with it by spreading the ball to mismatched receivers.
The Matt Jones at QB near the endzone is a great idea. I haven't heard anything about them using that package, but I like the way you think.
He was amazing in the option at college, and furthermore, everyone knew it was coming, and he consistently ran the ball well against the best defenses in college football. But I agree that Greg Jones will get first and second crack at the GL. If he struggles I could see MJones getting some looks, but don't forget that Williams and Wilford are plenty tall too.
Seriously. He's one of my favorite players. Big, tough, smart, competitive kid that has tons of talent, but I just dont see him ever pitching but a shade more than 20 TDs in his best year. That gawdawful windup of his doesnt help when it comes to needing to get rid of the pill quickly in the red zone, either.
