..... and the dude might be one of the best natural athletes in the NFL today. The speed, the verticle and everything else he can do is pretty much God given seeing that Matt doesn't seem to give a damn (well at least he hasn't so far). If he puts it together he can become a very good WR.The Bills CB's are small and Matt should be able to take advantage of that. On top of that, Jax will not be able to run the ball against the Bills (O-line is a mess and Stroud has something to prove). Plus they will be losing so they will be passing a bunch.I think Matt Jones could be a solid play this week as long as Porter and Williams stay on the bench....and he likes pina colada'sHe enjoys long walks on the beach and ripping off multi-lines of cocaine

His trial date is October 10. Depending on the speed of the trial and outcome, he could be suspended before week 6.I don't get how Jones isn't suspended?

sure it is. any lawyer worth his salt finds a "discovery" issue, or motion to delay this till the off-season.His trial date is October 10. Depending on the speed of the trial and outcome, he could be suspended before week 6.I don't get how Jones isn't suspended?
Then again, Goodell hasn't really cared too much about due process either. I too am shocked that he hasn't been suspended, apparently "allegedly" being caught red-handed with a bunch of coke is not as bad other 'alleged' infractions of other nfl players.sure it is. any lawyer worth his salt finds a "discovery" issue, or motion to delay this till the off-season.His trial date is October 10. It's almost like they don't want to do anything against the player when they know a criminal court will. Then again, Goodell hasn't really cared too much about due process either. My money says it takes porter a year to jell. There have been a lot of "anointed" jags receivers. Jones is the first (and the fastest-- pure speed) and he's getting 10 targets a game, and having a decent game when the offense struggled. I think I'll hitch my train to that wagon until porter does anything. Frankly I think a healthy WR2 only helps WR1's.The Jags paid Jerry Porter a lot of money to be the #1 WR. He's supposed to be activated for Week 2, so I wouldn't jump on the Matt Jones bandwagon just yet.
yeah this one gets me, because I think here is a GOOD chance that Jones escapes without criminal penalty. He's got pretty good chance to beat it pre-trial, and at worst he could do some pretrial diversion stuff that would make the charges go away. I have a feeling this will just be drug out to the offseason. Not to mention that a Matt Jones jury trial in Razorbackwoods Arkansas would be the white people version of the Boondocks/R kelly sketch. It's almost like they don't want to do anything against the player when they know a criminal court will. Then again, Goodell hasn't really cared too much about due process either. or get injured like so many players doHe still might get suspended. I know Mortenson, who loves Matt Jones, said in his ESPN chat yesterday that he felt Matt Jones would get over 1,000 yards receiving this year but he conditioned that to say only if he was available for the entire 16 games. He did not say remain healthy for 16 games but stay available. This seemed to indicate to me Mort believes a suspension is very possible.
Who's Jerry Porter?Who's Matt Jones ?
I mentioned in the post why Mort's wording indicated something other than injury. Morts comment was before Jones entered into the drug program.I can't recall if I saw it a few days ago on NFL.com or the NFL Network but they believe he is facing a one or two game suspension. I'm more worried about Mike Walker cutting into his production if Walker stays healthy.or get injured like so many players doHe still might get suspended.
