I couldn't find the Panther thread through all the other threads so if nobody is interested this one will just drop down the board.DJ Hackett made it through a full practice today which is good news. Now to Matt Moore...Matt Moore broke his left fibula today. He will be listed as week to week. They signed Basanez to the practice squad. I'm very glad they signed Josh McCown last week to backup Delhomme.
Carolina Panthers quarterback Matt Moore suffered a broken left leg in practice on Wednesday, the team has announced. His status is week-to-week."Matt went out today and threw and felt a pop," said Panthers general manager Marty Hurney. "We did another X-ray, and it showed a fractured fibula (the smaller of the two bones in the lower leg)."Moore initially was injured in the third quarter of the Panthers' final preseason game at Pittsburgh last week when he was hit in the leg by Steelers safety Anthony Smith. Indications after the game were that Moore had suffered a shin contusion, and X-rays and an MRI the next day came back negative. In four preseason games, Moore completed 35-of-65 passes for 389 yard with three interceptions. He started against Pittsburgh."Hopefully, he can come back fairly quickly and pick up where he left off," Hurney said.To bolster depth at the position in the wake of Moore's injury, Carolina has signed Brett Basanez to the practice squad. Basanez had been waived by the Panthers in the final roster cutdown on Saturday. During the preseason, he completed 11-of-18 passes for 135 yards and one touchdown with one interception in two games. To make room for Basanez, defensive end Angelo Craig was terminated from the unit.
