With Leinart departing for Houston, undrafted free agent Max Hall moves into the back-up QB spot. Anderson is a stop gap at best and has not shined for the Cards in the preseason. Hall is an injury or a string of bad performances away from tossing the rock to Larry Fitzgerald and Steve Breaston on Sundays.
Some factoids:
- NBC Sports' Peter King revealed that Ken Whisenhunt told him Hall was "the best of our four quarterbacks" in camp
- Chris Mortensen reported that the Cardinals see some “Kurt Warner qualities” in him
- Whisenhunt likes his intangibles. "He accepts the challenge," Whisenhunt said. "He's not afraid to step in there with an air of authority, call a play in the huddle, make a decision and live with that decision. If he makes a bad play, he's not afraid to jump in there and do it again. I like his moxie."
- Finished his college career at BYU averaging 291 yards per game passing completing 65% of his passes with 94 TD's and 40 INT's. Holds the BYU record for wins in a career (32).
As you can tell, I really like this kid's prospects. At worst, dynasty owners should be stashing him away but I think he has a chance to start this season with makes him viable for keeper and possible even QB2 material for redraft leagues.
