Maya Angelou Died (1 Viewer)

The snake crawls on his belly

But he wants no legs

Wind whispers in the night

Birds they take not flight

Oh great song why do you torment

Those of us in despair

Fish meander in the brook

For they know the sun will come

We are all but mortals

Our days will soon be none

RIP Maya
Dude that is really good!!

"Lookin' through eyes of time mirrors reflecting their stories

Untrue

Promises, promises, telling me all of my glories overdue

How many times have I heard it before

And I'll probably hear it again

King of a thousand knights, pawn in a table light

Losing to you"

-Ozzy, blouses.....

Toucan Sam, you leap on the back of the wind, load stone to assorted fruit flavors, Phoenix of the dawns, one smile. We gave you, Toucan Sam, life. You, Toucan Sam, give us loops of fruit. Fruity loops, Fruit Loopies, swimming in the churning, frothy mother sea of milk, Kellogg's appreciates consumer comments, P. O. Box 221, Battle Creek, Michigan, a prism of fruity color, a cornocopia of over forty fruity tastes. The orange, the apple, the grape, the pomegrante, the quince, the kumkwat, the kiwi, the planitain, the guava...

My favorite

Ok, I'll admit it - never heard of her. I'm confident I should be embarrassed by this but hey, at least I'm not Peens.
I find this hard to believe.

I mean, I've never read any of her stuff, but at least I'm aware of her existence. Or lack thereof. Whatever.

How can you have never heard of her?

I saw Maya Angelou speak in a relatively intimate setting during the first week of my freshman year of college. I remember being so hungover that I could barely stay awake during her talk. In retrospect, I kind of wish that I remembered that experience better. On the other hand, I do have some other good memories from college orientation week.

She was much more than just a poet and writer. She did a lot for social justice and for women, especially black women. In her golden years she never stopped championing for people. I always wanted to take her class over at Wake Forest University, but her classes always filled up way in advance. I think she was an awesome person. She made a positive difference during her time here. RIP

1. I'm a moron

2. I work a lot and have 4 kids

3. I don't read very much any more unless it's work related and I've never liked poetry

4. I spend zero percent of my time watching news of any kind. I don't listen to the radio (I listen to podcasts). I don't read the newspaper or any type of news website

5. I'm a moron

Dark and lonely on the Summer night.

Kill my landlord. Kill my landlord.

Watchdog barking, do he bite?

Kill my landlord. Kill my landlord.

Slip in his window, break his neck!

Then his house, I start to wreck.

Got no reason...what the heck?

Kill my landlord. Kill my landlord.

C-I-L-L...my land.....lord.
RIP, Maya.
