Looks like many threads will be created this week about Marions situation.From Rotoworld

Marion Barber went to the locker room for x-rays in the third quarter becaues of an injured left pinkie toe.The Barbarian also missed a drive in the first half, but he returned briefly after the break for one more carry. His foot was apparently stepped on. Barber had a 17-yard run early, but otherwise did not look explosive. The game is a rout, so MBIII will likely finish with 32 rushing yards and a score on ten carries. Tashard Choice would be a good pickup in leagues with open waivers.

Indeed. Although I must admit that my plate today, piled high with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, candied yams, corn, peas, cranberries and deviled eggs would have probably broken my foot!

Aren't you the cutest little ##### bag.If Groin Pains says that he was as good as new after 3 weeks, I would expect someone like MB3 having no problem after a couple of weeks or so, his next 2 games are against Pitt and NYG so no biggie. Awfully hard unless you have other options. Fortunatly I have Dunn, Portis and Dwill that I can plug in. I am glad now that no one wanted to trade me for my RB's during the regular season.

Sportscenter this morning was reporting a "broken pinky toe". Not sure if there is a big difference between "broken" and "dislocated" when it comes to the pain and recovery time.

Marcellus Wiley said he played with a "broken pinky toe" and while it was bothersome, he was able to play through it and thinks Barber will be fine.

Dallas' remaining schedule is rough. I'm sure there are better players on your WWs than Choice. I picked up Dunn to replace MBIII if necessary.

They play the Giants/Ravens at home. The Ravens got blown up by Jacobs. The Dallas offense will be flying high by week 14. You really think the Giants/Ravens are going to come to Dallas and shut down that offense? Roy/Witten/TO pretty much ensure Barber will be very good during the FF playoffs. I will admit week 14 is tough. On the road vs Steelers is the worst matchup possible. But Barber should be good for a cheap TD at least. But the Ravens/Giants at home is not a bad matchup in my books. The over/under should be pretty high for the Giants game. The Ravens on the road, against an elite offense, just doesn't scare me. He's starting for me week 15.

I think you misunderstood. I am not saying don't start MBIII. I am saying Choice isn't a must have for MBIII owners. There are better options with better matchups than Choice. The schedule doesn't scare me away from MBIII, but it does scare me away from Choice.

I agree. I wouldn't worry about Barber against any defense. He's that good. But Choice would not be a strong starting option against those defenses in my opinion. Unless you're a Barber owner or are absolutely devastated at RB and have nothing, I can't see picking up Choice for any reason other than depth purposes. I can't imagine starting him at this point so I wouldn't rank him that high on WW lists if there were other RBs with more potential still out there in your league.

I have Barber in 2 leagues and have backed him up with Choice in both. I was able to do it after Felix went on the IR and got him cheap. If Barber misses some games, Choice will pleasantly suprise some people.

MRI results negative on MBIII, DeMarcus Ware

The results of Marion Barber III (toe) and DeMarcus Ware's (knee) MRIs came back negative.

This means Ware doesn't have a torn ligament in his knee and Barber has avoided a fracture of his pinkie toe. The Cowboys are calling Ware's injury a "hyperextension," which is something he'll probably be able to play through in Week 14 with extra time to recover after a Thanksgiving Day game. According to ESPN's John Clayton, there's a "good chance" that Marion Barber won't miss any games due to his dislocated toe.

Clayton says the pinkie toe was re-aligned and will be taped to his next toe, so running on it won't be a problem. Barber also has extra time to heal before next Sunday's game against the Steelers. He hasn't been that great this season.Yes, 3 - I missed the STL game.He has broken 4 YPC in 4 games, that's it. He's been pretty unproductive this year running the ball, though he's been awesome as a receiving option. While it's not inconceivable, he needs 130 yards and 75 carries in the next 4 games to break 1,000 rushing or 300 carries. He's unlikely to hit the 1200 yard mark everyone thought he'd make before the season, and 1500 is way out of reach.His TDs are probably going to be the lowest in the three years.And don't go blaming Romo's injury - Barber played equally as badly when Romo was in as when he was out.Funny how people were knocking on LT, Addai, etc for their low YPC, and when it comes to Barber it doesn't matter. So far this season, the only difference between Barber and LenDale White is number of attempts.

I figured. Pinky toe is hardly important, and it was only dislocated, NOT fractured. He will only have a little pain solveable with pain killers

Funny how people were knocking on LT, Addai, etc for their low YPC, and when it comes to Barber it doesn't matter. So far this season, the only difference between Barber and LenDale White is number of attempts.

Haha... how many 100 yard rushing game for Addai this year? Actually how many 100 yard rushing games since what, week 9 last year? LT? LT was the "consensus" #1 pick, and Addai #3 - 5 on most draft boards. Where was Barber at? I know in my case he dropped to the 2nd pick of the second round. Lendale > Addai, guy has 43 more points in my league this year.

In non-ppr leagues -- #7 (not counting this week)In 0.5 ppr leagues -- #5 (not counting this week)In 1 ppr leagues -- #2 (not counting this week)So I'm assuming you play entirely in non-ppr leagues. Even that being the case #7 is right there and a handful of pts (7 to be exact) off of being #5. Considering that's right around where he was drafted, what's the problem? And he hasn't been that great this season? Ranked from #2-#7 depending on scoring is not that great? Seriously Switz, just stop. If you want to see who hasn't been that great this season, go take a look at Joseph. Barber has scored or hit 100 combined yds in every game this year except 3. Repeat after me: "I was wrong about Marion Barber." If you want, because it will probably hurt to say that statement, you can quickly follow it with "But I was right about Turner". Little compromise, k?

Back to the topic at hand, Barber is getting treatment on his toe throughout the weekend and has been wearing a walking boot. He will probably be a limited participant in practice next week, however, I think he'll be fine for the Pittsburgh game. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Depends on your depth.In any case, given the brutal upcoming schedule for the Cowboys, I wouldn't put a lot of stock in Choice performing on Barber's level if he does get significant carries.

there's little out there on the WW at this late point in the season. in my 16 team, 16 man roster league i picked up tashard as a handcuff to MB3. when the playoffs start and if my horse is out, at least i have a viable starter. he's a better back up or safety net plan than cedric benson IMHO.

Dallas just put Kyle Kosier on the IR. They signed a linebacker to his roster spot. A special teams player. It was NOT a RB. The only RBs on their roster are Barber and Choice. No way would they go into a game with only 1 RB. Dallas did not sign another RB when they had the chance. Its obvious they didnt think they needed to.

Barber will play against Pittsburgh.
