McClure's BBQ (1 Viewer)

Awesome. Can't wait to make it down one of these days. Wish NO had a hockey team. We could take in a Rangers game

preliminary blue prints done....meeting with investor tonight to hammer out some of the biz details Colin has thankfully given us to work with. We still haven't agreed upon how much he can expect to be spending, but we are close to deciding %'s.

Lease signing next week with occupancy starting in October. We hopefully will get permits done by then and immediatley start tearing down some stuff and building some other stuff.

:football: ....although....

It still doesn't feel that real. It probably won't until I have keys and can start doing something. Still....big :blowsout: with the prospect of being open in the next few months.

Great news tipsy! Will it be ready by Voodoo Fest?

Paperwork done between the partner and I...all except the signatures.

Meeting with the landlord tonight to negotiate the lease a bit.

Architect submitting plans to the city for permit approval.

One major stumbling block...will they make us add a 2nd bathroom and kill more dining room space...which may be a deal breaker. The space is pretty small to begin with, and if I take out more tables we are going to have to consider moving on...again.

Didn;t dantes only have a single seat RR?

two...one was in the kitchen and we rarely sent people back there. neither one of them were ADA compliant...something existing restaurant spaces were exempt. The space i'm looking at hasn't been a restaurant and will face more scrutiny.However...since we are considered a "quick service" restaurant, and my square footage is small we may only have to have one. Waiting on the city for that answer.

Is the fenced in area next to the building yours as well?
yep...smoker area
Seating outside too?
hope so....the back yard may be too small with smoker, piles of wood, and a shed. side street can do it...just going to cross that bridge later. (ie ask for forgiveness vs getting permission for it)
Could you build "rough" shelving in the back to hold the wood? Something simple like a few 2x4s and 2x8s to put the wood on so it goes "up" and not "out"...

Nice. That backyard would be pretty awesome with either an iron fence (I know $$), or a small fence where people can watch the smoker as they walk by

Signed the lease yesterday afternoon. Getting to work in two weeks. The guy who owns it is letting us in early if we help him move his stuff....done.

Also...the Gambit rated McClure's Barbecue as the best Pop Up of 2012 yesterday (bestofneworleans.com) Next year...best BBQ. :football:

Plans approved by the Department of Health & Hospitals...Lease signing Monday.... starting build out next month!!!!

4800 Magazine Street.
Three blocks away from me  Didn't Lee Harvey Oswald live next door?
i thought that was a building down in the CBD?
Nah, that Camp Street building you're thinking of is where he worked out of. He actually lived at 4907 Magazine and used to go sip suds at Les Bon Temps (or whatever it was called back then).

HFS, that's awesome considered you weren't open a majority of the year.Surely you make top 2 next year...the fact that Squeal and Corky's is on the list is laughable. If you can unseat the joint that would be amazing. You can do it!:thumbup:ETA: I know some of this stuff is a popularity contest...but still

Getting keys today (lease technically doesn't start until October, but landlord is cool).Just got off phone to get power turned on.Headed downtown to get my water & sewage set up.Final plans from architect still not here...but coming soon and then we turn it over to building contractor.Tonight I will drink a beer and break part of a wall in the place as a symbolic first step.
