Someone posted this in the wrong area, but brought up a valid point. Are you worried about McCoy breaking down?

Personally I am, I think if the Eagles are going to run 40+ times a game that McCoy needs to be at about 20 carries, Brown with about 10, and the other 10 to Vick, receivers and Polk. If this is just one of those weeks where McCoy got a lot of extra work because they were up and trying to put the game away then do be it, but I have a hard time believing he will survive a 350+ carry season

I agree, especially with a good lead, get Brown and Polk in there.

Just from a football standpoint, from a FF and fun standpoint it was awesome.

Any RB can be hurt at any time. It's the nature of the position.

Entirely subjectively, he doesn't look like someone who would get hurt easily, at least from a contact play. He almost always jukes away from the big hits.

Maybe, but it's hard to argue 180 yards rushing but I agree he won't last getting 30+ touches a game. I'm Kelly will adjust so that both Brown and Polk see 10 to 20 touches per game. If they're going to average 70+ plays a game they'll be plenty of love to go around.

USC Coach John McKay was once asked whether OJ Simpson would get tired carrying the ball 30 times a game. "Why would he?" McKay asked. "The ball's not heavy."

Both Brown and Vick had 9 carries.

There won't be a ton of weeks where they run 50 times in a game and ultimately he'll probably fall into the 20-25 touches area most weeks.

I don't watch many Eagles games unless they play the Giants but McCoy is shifty enough where he usually doesn't take many big hits.

I just see this raising Bryce Browns value. I dont usually do handcuffs but if McCoy does go down I still want a piece of that Chip Kelly pie on my bench

Yeah, I have concenrs about health with that offense. I think it is a valid to ask after last night whether Bryce Brown is the right fit for that offesnse in the event McCoy does go down. Can't/didn't see him doing all the manuevering McCoy did to spring plays. Brown almost looked like a fullback in comparison.

When they decide to run the ball its like kicking a hotdog down a hallway.

Not if they're on the bench. The more he's out there, the higher the risk.

I think you have to like everyone in this offense.

Vick, then Foles if Vick goes out.

McCoy (noduh), then Brown, then Polk.

Celek, then Ertz. If they plug `em in I say get `em.

I'm not sure that that is true, but I agree that there is no way that he McCoy can keep up this many touches in every game.

Injuries are so hard to predict. They will all be playing hurt at some point of the season. The question is if he will receive an injury that is significant enough that he won't play...and that is impossible to know. If you think he will continue to get 30+ carries a game, the chance that he gets injuried at some point is greater than if he only gets 20 carries a game...just from a number of plays and every play there is a chance you could get injured.

There aren't very many RB handcuffs that I would go after, but McCoy/Brown is one of the them (Foster/Tate is probably the only other one). In most other scenarios, if a lead RB goes down it will likely be a RBBC or a dramatic dropoff in talent. In McCoy's (and Foster's) scenario you have a elite backup option that you know will step up and produce significant fantasy points.

I'm worried about any RB that looks like they will get more than 300 carries, but thats also why I drafted his handcuff. Theres literally nothing else you can do.

You can't move him without involving two more players, no one will trade laterally for him, and why would they if they have a RB who is of the same caliber?

Just sit back, and wait to collect your money or pick up the pieces with his handcuff - and if you don't already have his handcuff :kicksrock:
