Meachem missing? (1 Viewer)

QB22

Last week Meachem scored one 40 yard receiving TD and was tackled twice at the 1 yard line, once on a reverse and once on another reception.

This week against the Dolphins, Meachem was not mentioned in the Playbook.

Saints homers any word on this?

Meachem's always been a tease, like Chris Henry. The fact that Meachem plays for high-powered NO makes it worse, but he's no different than any player on their team (other than Brees) consistency-wise. It's a box of chocolates every week.

First time this year i started him instead of Chris Henry or Henderson in 1 league. Of course he put up a goose egg. :moneybag:

Brees is the player to own in NO. they are "wrbc" pretty much along with CHI, NYG,IND among others.

I have owned Meachem in dynasty since drafting him as a rookie, and the frustrating thing is that when he plays, he flashes enough talent that you can't cut him. But his opportunities are so limited that you can't count on him. To some extent, that is true of all the NO receivers except for Colston, so I don't think you can draw any negative conclusions from it.

Whenever he plays, he makes big plays. I haven't seen him drop easy balls. So, it is confusing as a fan. Unless Moore and Henderson are clearly out, however, you can't count on him.

That is an interesting way to look at it. I guess I look it at a lot more negatively. Meachem was still a bit raw coming out of college, but most thought he would make an impact at some point. The problem with him is, he's not a good route runner, and he doesn't like contact. Which makes him at best, a one route wide receiver. If the only route he can run is a go, then his value is automatically limited.I drafted this guy in the first round of my dynasty rookie draft when he came out. He has the size and speed that you're looking for, but he does not possess the total package. He hasn't shown nearly enough for me to think he's a dependable option from here on out. I may be proven wrong, but I've already written him off as an impact player in the NFL.

When you make the following claims, I wonder what you are basing them on because I haven't seen any evidence of it this season or last season. You claim:

a) he doesn't like contact

b) isn't a good route runner

Is he avoiding contact and looking afraid on this TD? http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/09000...-vs-Giants-2009

I have seen other receptions over the middle where he was hit hard but can't video on them. Did he say something about this or did the HC? How do you measure whether someone runs good routes or not?

Good posting everyone...I agree he's definitely "hot/cold" type of fantasy player.

If anyone saw the game, did Meachem even get on the field?
