Sorry I had to skip out quickly, [icon], but I had to go back to the station to take care of a ####storm (if you don't know what happened with Henri Brooks this week, google her). I'll hopefully be able to hang around tomorrow night. I didn't plan on staying long anyway tonight because of work tomorrow, but I'm off Saturday, so it's on!
For the rest of you, here's some pics I took of the Beast Booth:

Holy #### what a night... Bonomo brothers stuck it out till closing... JTG was insanely helpful setting #### up and was awesome to tip pints back with... Ray Karpis, Brady Marino and pimpin ain't easy are all awesome guys to boot. I am ####### gassed. We ran out of ice and were just pouring cups of warm vodka and sprite/tonic/redbull/whatever. People were still lining up. Felt bad about that.
DJ got too wasted and played too much trap... Had to kick a dickhole out once after shoving a cop (our security) then again, more forcefully, when he somehow got back in..
Neil's food was awesome. I didn't get to eat much except when I brought Asian nail salon team back because they wanted meat.. So he whipped his meat out and beat it on the table and they ate it up.

Okay I need sleep. I took many more pics but I'm gassed. Apparently now we have celeb chef troy black doing a book signing at our booth tomm too... During live acoustic set before DJ.
Oh and between 12-3pm we will be competing in chicken, beef, seafood, exotic, tomato sauce, vinegar sauce, mustard sauce, and wings. Tipsy gonna be workin hard. Fingers crossed. He will have help....

How busy is this place during the day or in the evening? This picture has four people in it, that's why I ask. I have been to some BB-Q events all over Texas, usually there are a good deal of folks two-steppin well into the eve. Is that not the case in Memphis? Also is Memphis BB-Q better than KC BB-Q? It's not better than Texas, this is a certainty. Looks like a fun time though, hope you figure out how to take better pictures.

Here's my report:
Had a terrific time yesterday at the McClure's booth. [icon] was a terrific host and he, and the rest of the team, did an amazing job with the setup, logistics, etc. You can't imagine all the details that go into making this thing go smoothly. Hung out with JerseyToughGuys and Pimpin Ain't Easy - both great guys. TIpsey was doing his thing nearly non-stop. Made it for lunch (BBQ chicken was phenomenal) but had to cut out before dinner - which sucked. Heard raves all day about the jambalaya - hated to miss that.
The fest itself was overwhelming. About 3/4 mile of solid tents and booths (two deep), and then you turn around to come back and there is another row. All the big brand names - Weber, BGE, CharBroil, Kingsford - have huge trailers, cooking demonstrations, tastings, etc. I think I'm going to smell like charred meat for a week.
All in all - great first FBG mini-cornhole for me. Sorry I missed a few of the other guys that showed up but a very good time was had. Also, had the single largest oyster on the half I've ever eaten. [icon] probably has a photo of the oyster liquer running down the front of my shirt somewhere.

I was able to swing by for a few min last night (had my 3y/o w/ me, who had already devoured a pulled pork sandwich). Been coming to BbqFest for years & have been by icon's previous booths in the past. This setup is definitely the Mack daddy of them all. Well done, brother!
Heard a few FBGs had already came & went (JTG - it's a marathon down here, did you drink yourself out of the party?) Sorry I couldn't sample any of Tipsy's offerings, but I agree with the others: icon - pics of food are needed here!

Afraid I won't be able to hang out tonight either. The BS from last night became legendary Memphis radio today and because of that, I have to catch up on things back at work when I am done today.
