Mendenhall Robbed at Gunpoint (1 Viewer)

What's he doing out at a park @ 2 am? ;)
When I first moved to Chicago, some of us went down that way to play basketball. We got read the riot act the next day by our black co-workers about being stupid. Have to admit that all the gangbangers made us nervous but no one gave us trouble. But I've never gone down that way ever again.

Seems like he was taking a 'date' or something there that night.

Thought being a NFL 1st rounder was enough.

Is it normal for a player to have 2 agents? Is he really calling his mother an agent?

Mom get me a Chunky Soup commercial gig!

Exactly. I can't imagine being out on the Chicago lakefront - pretty much anywhere along the lake - at 2am. Not a smart move.
Actually, all public parks along the lake officially close at night, but if you want to take your date on a walk along the lake at 2am, why on the SOUTH side? 2am is not safe anywhere, but at least the lakefront further north is a bit safer.

Someone's lying. It couldn't have happened. They passed a law making guns illegal in Chicago. Didn't he explain that to the gentleman?

I know McFadden has two agents (Mike Conley, and I can't recall the other guy's name). One agent (the guy I can't remember) is negotiating his contact, and I would guess the other is working on endorsement deals and the like for him. Whether this is normal, I don't know. Since McFadden is dealing with the Raiders in contract negotiations, he probably wants all the help he can get to get a deal done with Al Davis  .

Not that Mendenhall can be blamed for this, but nothing good ever comes from being out at 2am.
 You'd think that this would be one of the first lessons sports agents would inculcate into their clients' heads. Being out after Cinderella's coach becomes a pumpkin (that's midnight for those of you without young daughters) = hanging a big target around your neck as a famous sports figure.

I'm kind of surprised more guys do not have two agents. Post above makes perefect sense (even the jab at Big Al) as like anything else in business, people tend to specialize and although he has to dole more money out, I would guess he'll see that and more come back his way with the doubling of efforts. As for Mendenhall, this will probably be a good, pain-free lesson for him. when I was in colege I was mugged by knife point by two 15 years olds (so embarrasing), but it was a goood lesson for me to not be on my own in a bad area. I was walking from one party to another, pretty lit up and they approached me. They told me to hand over my wallet and when they opened it, moths flew out. The guy with the knife told the other one to seach me and they found a crumpled up five dollar bill. They were about to try to work me over when I just dashed towards campus safety about 200 yards away. there were three cars and a cop car all sitting around and when i told them what happened, they all just scrambled like the Key Stone cops (pretty funny). it was a great lesson for me and I have probably avoided many more dumb situations because of this. Rashard is not to blame, but he will certainly be wiser in the future.

Based on experiences with a Latina stripper that I met around 2 am, I'm going to have to agree to disagree with you on that one.

Yeah but you're not about to become a multi-millionaire either. While the rest of us have to stay up late and work at finding someone to do things with, guys with mendenhall's cashflow should be able to find someone a lot sooner. I think that was implied in borbely's post. Mendenhall doesn't have a good reason to be out that late

Why is he taking anyone "out" at 2 am? Dude, take her home.... or at least to a motel room!! :goodposting:
