Mendenhall's status? (1 Viewer)

[Mon Oct 18, 9:14 AM] Mendenhall suffered a helmet-to-helmet hit in the fourth quarter, and spent the balance of the game on the sideline. 'I don't really remember the hits from the game,' he said after the game. Mendenhall will be evaluated further as the week goes along.

I have not heard anything else, but this is posted here on footballguys website. If he cannot remember the hits, that would indicate a concussion. They seem to be everywhere right now. The only other news I can find is that they want to reduce his workload in the coming weeks. Does anybody have any word on the possible injury? How about you locals in the Pitt area?

pittsburgh and mendenhall covered up and lied about his obv concussion. he will surely play next week and get the bulk of the workload.

Where did that report even come from? I haven't seen that reported anywhere.
Right here on footballguys website. Go to week 7, custom top 250 forward, generate the rankings, then click on Mendenhall's name. It certainly seems like a report that should have generated at least some buzz back on Monday when it was originally reported.

Then it's probably wrong. He has a shoulder contusion but isn't on the injury report. He'll get spelled more than he had been and that's about it. That was probably about Massaquoi.
follow the directions above to the link. It certainly seems like it applies. Mendenhall did sit out the end of the game.

This is with 1:36 left on the clock in the 4th quarter:2nd-6, CLE14 1:36 R. Mendenhall rushed to the left for no gainThe Steelers never had the ball again after that.

From Rotoworld today:
Steelers RB Isaac Redman has been told that he'll see an increase in carries in the last five minutes of games to ease Rashard Mendenhall's workload.

Redman will be the clock-killer or at least the clock-bleeder late in games when the Steelers have a commanding lead. It's a smart way to reduce the stress on Mendenhall's body without losing him for crucial plays. Mendenhall remains a rock-solid RB1.
Redman out of the bullpen to close.link
