MFL Pay Leagues (1 Viewer)

Not having an active commish proving to be a bit troublesome for us. We have one guy that has timed out three times and going on four. Geoff put him on auto but the guy logged in once and took himself off. maybe the dude is doing on purpose? My $.02...I suspect others will switch to auto only to consider this a bad draft experience. Oh well.

Yah, seems like every league has one. But, the start of the nfl is over a month away anyways. I have done 3 already. Signed up and waiting for the 4th to start. Once a week is fun. These drafts show the true value of players rather than silly mocks. It's interesting to see how players draft stock fluctuate day by day, week by week. No different than the stock market...perception=true value

Hello Footballguys-

First off: many thanks to those of you who have purchased a 10s league. They're obviously new, so we are learning things on a daily basis about running public leagues.

The goal with these is to give all 12 drafters the most enjoyable experience possible, so if you have any problems, questions or concerns, please contact me: geoff@myfantasyleague.com...

The general rule about "no shows" is to let the first two rounds go by -- if they haven't made a manual selection, we will put them on auto-draft. As big Fantasy Football guys ourselves, we know how frustrating a slow draft can be. We will do our best to get things moving for you.

Have to admit... the amount of subscribers in the MFL $10 leagues is hysterical. I am seeing guys I thought for sure that were sleepers going in the 8th and 9th round, even with ADPs in the 12th and 13th....

Thank goodness none of you folks are in my regular league!!! :boxing:

So far I have done one, so far and starting a 2nd, took about 2 weeks but it's all good. It's a slow draft so should be expected to do about 1 round a day possibly a touch more.

Its really cool that MFL is based out of Wisconsin though, glad we lead the way in ff!

that 8 hr draft clock doesn't run at night, right?

I was in an mfl mock that supposedly had one of these 8 hr draft clocks but some guy would take 3 days to make a pick.

 
Are any of these $10 leagues best ball? I'd buy into several if I didn't have to take time away from my regular leagues to set lineups on Sunday.

I asked that question the other day and they said probably not for this year. I'm in two now, but I would probably do 7 or 8 more if they were best ball. They do have the Facebook Friends leagues that are best ball but they are free leagues.
 
Thanks for the fun leagues MFL! I'm just getting my first under way, but I plan on doing many more as the season approaches.

Since this is your first year here are a few personal suggestions on how they may be done a bit better.

1)Either make the draft start 24 hours after the league is formed or have the first day of the draft on a 24 hour timer. My group had one owner that didn't receive his league information until after his timer ran out. Sufficient to say he was not happy.

2) Have the waiver system be a blind bid salary cap. This is the most popular method out there that I've seen and seems to be the most fair.

3) Have a best ball option. I know a lot of people that like the current format, but also quite a few that just don't have the in-season time to devote to managing another roster.

happened to me too w/ the 1st pick in one of the drafts.no biggie, i still joined a couple more.

good fun.

 
I have done 2 of them and the drafting has been MISERABLE! If these people can't check the site more than once every couple days, DO NOT JOIN THEM!! I was going to do more, but have been very frustrated with the speed of the drafts.

 
ya, I stopped at one.

took a good week+ to finish, and that's not ok with me. and the timer runs during the night, which sped things up, but is stupid when its your pick.

The one I am currently doing has been running for a week and we are only on round 9. :wall: If we could get a complete draft done in a week, I would gladly do more.
 
The one common theme I'm seeing in every league I'm in or look at is people crying about the speed of the draft in league chat.

Drafts are taking too long, people just refuse to use queues so we end up waiting 40+ minutes for a pick when the guy could have set a 3 person queue. Also waiting almost 2 hours now for someone to make a pick when they were ON THE SITE while it was their turn to pick, yet didn't pick. I'm making sure everyone in my leagues hear about it too. Not there to make friends, so I don't care if anyone gets tired of the complaints.

Really dude? I don't find it ok to average an hour or more per pick when you can set queues and a lot of people have smartphones. Should be able to easily do at least 3 rounds a day if people weren't so ignorant about leaving queues.

Going ok far. I am very ok with a long draft, I got time.

So far at the 5th spot...

Chris Johnson, Fitzgerald, Stafford, Bush, Gore. Now I got to shore up my WRs.

 
Love the guy in one of the leagues who is intentionally using as much time of the 8 hour clock now. He'll log on multiple times while it's his turn to pick then not actually pick until a few hours later. It's rather pathetic and does nothing but prove how ignorant and immature he is.

Started the Wisdom of the Crowds winners (so all FBGs) draft on Monday and we're already in round 15 of 20. These MFL 10s were started on Friday and Saturday and they're in rounds 10 and 8.
