MFL using FBG Lineup Dominator? (1 Viewer)

Just happened to notice that in lineup dominator of my 53-man zealots league with IDPs that the lineup dominator and the MFL game odds are identical! Both have the exact same spread (down to the decimal point) as Lineup Dominator. Does the MFL site use the Lineup Dominator engine for this?

Just curious, not that it matters

I would hope not! One of the purposes for using this site is to gain access to tools that others in our leagues don't have. If MFL is using the same thing, that defeats the purpose.

I guess they could have easily paid for a FBG membership and downloaded it like everyone else, then published it on their site. If that's the case, they need a smack across the head.

As far as I know, there's no way to see individual player projections, it's just the team total - point spread of Team A vs. Team B. I just found it highly coincidental that in a decimal scoring system with 17 starters that they both had the exact same spread.

The MFL point spread is not calculated based on projections. It is the sum of per game average FF points for each player in your starting lineup.

from the mfl.com faq:

How are fantasy point spreads calculated? If the franchise has submitted a lineup for the week in question, the system adds up the average year-to-date scores for all players in that franchise's starting lineup to arrive at the franchise's "expected score".If the franchise has not yet submitted a lineup for the week in question, the system uses the year-to-date average weekly score for that franchise to arrive at that franchise's "expected score".The point spread is the difference between the two franchise expected scores.
for what it's worth, you can prove this formula by either adding up the current player scores on your own to manually calculate the spread, or, you could temporarily change your lineup to see the impact that has on the spread, and then compare that updated spread to the dominator's updated spread. if the dominator does spreads based solely on player projections for the upcoming week, i'm fairly certain you'll see a difference. :D
