*Miami Dolphins at New York Jets +7 (45)* The Fitz Strikes Back! (1 Viewer)

I almost wish the Phins would help themselves and help Trevor find his way to Jacksonville.

No RBs for Miami but I hear Fitz is starting, Parker could hit Top 5 this week. Fitz might toss 3 interceptions, that's a fact but Parker should catch 12 balls for 180 and 2 TDs if there is any justice in this World.

In Fitz's 2 starts last year vs the Jets, Parker was 4-57-1td (Preston had 2 TDs) and 2-28 (Preston was out). And that was after Fiztpatrick became magical. Maybe the Jets know to play him. I'm starting Parker with modest expectations.

Have to start one of Gore or Breida (CMC, Swift, Conner lol), put Gore in but am now second guessing every major decision I've made in my life.

Take that back. Go Fins!

The Jets have been able to get themselves in manageable 3rd Downs, lot of 3rd and 4 type situations. Although they have not been successful in converting, Miami is giving them opportunities today.

Would like to see Fitz get established but so far he doesn't look in rhythm at all. Parker nonexistent.

Washington took the carry on 1st down and was able to get the pile moving, next play Fitz is able to hit Parker in stride across the middle.

One of the worst reception calls you will ever see, I would like those Refs to receive a full exam at Halftime and await the results.

Gase is challenging but that was pathetic.

Holy cow, how did that make it past New York City(Review Booth)...what is going on?

I have now seen a professional football game sanctioned by the NFL and watched a ball that was never secure and never was caught ruled a catch for no other reason than the call was so bad that the booth review in New York said "we better let it stand, they must have seen something we can't see on review" or "just to cover since it was so bad Gene, we better let it stand"

That wasn't a catch or was it. Anyway, 3 or 4 catches by Parker on this drive. Announcer - Tua was "used to receivers being SEC open!"

Also, Fitzpatrick was great at avoiding the rush on 2 plays.

They probably figured, the Jets want to lose this game, so no need to overturn.

Phins with a chance to get things rolling before the Half and take control of the game.

I am interested in some more Washington, think he might be an early hot pick up this week.

Parker seems like he is about ready to bust one, I hope they keep him in the game plan even if they extend the lead.

Sanders 54 yds FG was Good and his 51 yd FG try there was down the middle and Miami builds a comfortable 13-3 lead.

Pretty much an XP distance FG was pushed a little right or perhaps doinked it, not quite sure but Miami is going to keep a 10 point lead going into the Half.

10 point lead and Miami comes out slinging the ball, Hollins got a bad pass from Fitz and then Fitz was sacked and then Fitz was being rushed on 3rd and Long and 3 n Out for the Phins to open the 2nd Half.

Jets were moving the ball well at the end of the 1st Half, despite the FG miss they almost feel like the y have the momentum right now.

Miami has run 10-12 plays here in the 2nd half and has not handed the ball off one time that I've seen. Result is a 3rd and long and Fitz taking a huge hit and almost disaster.

Still almost 25 Minutes of Football left and Miami better be careful and start playing it by the book a little more or they're gonna find themselves in a fist fight in the 4th Q if they're not careful.

We have 6 carries for 16 yards. And 28 passes. They need to have some threat of the run to slow down the pressure on Fitzpatrick. Tua would've been crushed.

Miami will ice the game and look ahead to a likely win next week vs Cincinnati and a potential 8-4 record as they get into December.

Can't remember last time games meant much in December.

More to say in the Phins thread but even if Miami makes it into the Playoffs, not likely to be there long with no RB who can move the sticks and really just a 1 WR Pony on offense right now.

Parker will likely close the day 8/119 and I would say there was more to grab on the field but a couple errant throws and a drop as well along the way kept this from being a truly special day. Almost 20 in a lot of leagues will make players happy.

D Washington was decent at RB, and Gesicki is like another WR. But yes, a better defense would shutdown Parker.

Howard collects No 7 on the season.

Howard will be either 1st or 2nd Team All Pro in 2020, almost no doubt IMO.

Miami Defense is close to a shutout, 3 sacks, 2 Interceptions, could be double digits for the Phins depending on your league scoring.

Let's assume Fitz is going to start next week?

Miami is 8-4 at that point, how do they sit him for Tua?...I know I should just look back at Week 6 or 7 or whenever they started him to begin with.

Starting to lose my love for Tua quickly, maybe never had it totally.

We don't know for sure how good Tua is. But seeing what Mac Jones, who was less heralded,  has done in Alabama is making me think system QB.

What do we offer Fitzpatrick for 2021?

2 yr/$15M and let him continue to teach Tua and be ready to come off the bench anytime. Nothing that puts Miami in a hole for Year 2 but enough so he doesn't field offers. Miami won't miss that money.
