Michael Avenatti Thread (1 Viewer)

I feel like the California complaint is being unjustly ignored as it is bat#### crazy in its own right.  His bank fraud scheme made Manafort look like a criminal genius. And giving the client a forged settlement agreement with a payment date two months after you’ve received the settlement is probably the slimiest of all the allegations.

This was pretty stupid by Avenatti in another way that you'd think a sports board would be interested in. Would Nike have given two craps about his charges anyway? Do we really care any more if shoe companies are slipping money to recruits? If not, and we shouldn't, then why the continuing resistance to ending the NCAA rules about compensation for scholarship athletes?

Not in the least.  What makes you think I would change my mind that people will ever agree?  I still think there are those who will see him as a good guy.
Not too many that I have seen. As an example:

That's great.  I am glad they are able to take that new information and alter their positions.  I wish more Trump supporters did that!!!

His twitter today is full of the "documents" about who NIKE paid off.  Names of players, parents, "handlers", receipts from banks, wire transfers, phone calls, text messages, emails.      Doesn't look good.

If Carlton Debose of Nike has not been suspended or terminated yet, that will tell you everything you need to know about how high this goes. And trust me, it goes well North of him. Nike is terrified to fire him because they know he will flip on those above. Buckle up @Nike.

If this guy has something on Duke and Zion that takes them down finally then I'm willing to overlook all of his other incidents.  Just saying

It looks like its Zion and his mother - not Duke specifically.  It might make him ineligible, but I did not see anything that would taint Duke (other than vacating some wins).

Oh I know Duke will never get punished.  The program will claim they have nothing to do with the guy hiring his mom as a consultant and overpaying her.   It's been going on for years.   But just putting them in the same dirty category as the other elite programs is better than all that holier than thou crap ESPN throws at us.  And Ripleys will finally have to stop his UNCheat nonsense.

From the screen captures I saw, this is going to get really bad for Nike and the NCAA.  On the heels (pun intended) of the college admissions scandal, this isn't going to be overlooked.

I find it interesting that Zion's Nike shoe blew out, during a game, then within a week dropped them. I recall this happening right around the time the Avenatti/Nike blackmail scandal hit the waves.

Here's a crazy conspiracy theory: .......Zions mother sabotaged his shoe so that at some point in the very near future it would structurally fail and they could reasonably distance themselves from Nike. All she had to do was snip a few threads at various hard-to-detect spots and eventually the shoe would fail. Walla.

How'd I do? I dont usually write conspiracy theories as I'm not that confident in them. Anyway, I especially liked my closing.

This is solid....Logical, reasonable........I can buy it.  Got me thinking anyway

The fact that regulars in here took this guy seriously and even discussed him as a candidate sums up the PSF well.
He did 254 interviews on cable news!  Of course the regulars here would like him, most of them sit around watching CNN and MSNBC all day.

MRC analysts combed through recordings and Nexis transcripts of every Avenatti interview on major cable (CNN, Fox, MSNBC) and broadcast (ABC, CBS, NBC) news networks since his first 2018 TV appearance on the March 7 edition of NBC's Today.

CNN was the porn lawyer’s top cable enabler with a whopping 121 appearances; MSNBC earned a close second with 108. Broadcast networks hosted the attorney a combined 24 times (ABC: 12, CBS: 7, NBC: 5), while the Fox News Channel brought up the rear with just two appearances.

Nobody took him seriously as an actual candidate.

HTH
Exactly. He never polled better than about 2-3% percent. And his interviews and media attention was all at the beginning pretty much tied to his Stormy Daniels representation.

While many Democrats such as myself liked him taking on Trump and Fox, I never really saw on social media even a minimal groundswell of support for him as a candidate.

Stormy certainly can pick 'em.

She also said he had filed a defamation lawsuit against Trump, on her behalf, against her wishes.
- I believe this. This was a terrible lawsuit and Avenatti should be on the hook for the penalties that Daniels was ordered to pay.
