Michael Bush - RB - Oak (1 Viewer)

Penguins

It was speculated that Michael Bush is going to come off the PUP. I have read that this guy would have been a 1st rounder if it wasn't for the broken leg....a couple of questions:

1. Does he come off the PUP and do anything this year outside of maybe spell Jordan/Rhodes every now and again?

2. Any impact on 2008? Not sure what Jordan's contract is - I think Rhodes was a one year deal (if I recall correctly) - any chance he competes for the starting gig?

Looks like Jordan's contract is a 5 year deal signed after the 2004 season - so he's under contract (unless the raiders cut him, trade him) until 2010.....

Murkier for Michael Bush? Or is this an ease in situation with Jordan turning 30 in 2008?

The Raiders released Echemandu, which means it more likely that they'll activate Bush as opposed to send him to IR. I think they have to make that decision this week. If McCown were healthy, I think they'd activate Bush and release Walter, but with McCown still out, they might be reluctant to do that.

I don't think there's any chance Bush makes a fantasy impact this year. It's certainly plausible that he could wind up as the Raiders' starter in 2008, if Jordan's back deteriorates. Bush is more likely to get a starting chance than Rhodes next year.

Jordan's deal isn't an issue. He agreed to a pay cut before the season, rather than being cut. After the season, if the Raiders decide to go in a different direction, his deal won't be a factor. he can be cut whenever they want with minimum penalty.
