Michael Bush to turn pro, forgo return to Louisville

By Pat Forde

ESPN.com

Louisville running back Michael Bush will announce Tuesday he plans to declare for the NFL draft.

Bush, who broke his right leg against Kentucky in September after rushing for 128 yards and 3 TDs, had the option of entering the draft or taking a medical redshirt from the NCAA. He is expected to make the announcement at 11:30 a.m. ET.

Bush ran for an NCAA-leading 23 touchdowns as a junior in 2005.

Can they all save us the effort and just schedule the Brohm conference for 15 minutes after?

Can't see him staying when both his coach and top RB leave.

Brohm was gone anyway and I think BP leaving sealed it for Bush. Now it will be interesting to see if either of the WRs (Douglas, Urrutia) come out.

Bush isnt that special really, being from here Lville he is like Shelton brown that carolina drafted I think back 2 yr ago. And is injury prone.

Brohm is a smart QB, but his arm isn’t all that strong. Much like his brother I see a 3-5 yr career here, maybe longer if he stays healthy.

I would value your opinion more if you got Eric Shelton's name right.

Matt Simms has also determined that he will now not go to Louisville due to the coaching change. He had orally committed before the announcement.

And the hype for rookie drafts begins...

Unfortunately, we won't truly know if Bush can't run physical until we see him try it in the pros. He's a tremendous athlete with terrific straight line speed for such a big man, and some of the niftiness of a smaller back. What we haven't seen him do consistently is use his size as a weapon - put his shoulder down and bowl guys over.

He may end up in a terrific situation, and some people will take him over JaMarcus Russell, Dwyane Jarrett, and Sidney Rice. And my bet is that they will regret it, although my view on Bush is "skeptical" more than "convinced he will bust".

This is me...he strikes me as as a player that wont make much noise in the NFL. His vision sucks.Peterson and Lynch are the strongest bets in this class to ever see a Pro Bowl.

Here's a peek at his running style. Have to agree there are times you'd just like to see him lower the shoulder and let his 250lbs do some damage.

Are you sure you want to go out on a limb like that?
Just giving my opinion, sometimes I go out on a limb and sometimes my opinion is the status quo.

In this case, you're right though. Not much other than those two to get all that excited about at the RB spot this year.
