Not if you need Turner to make the playoffs and don't have Snelling..............greggorymac said:I just hope they sit him until he's truly healthy. Snelling is doing fine in his absence. I'd rather him sit the next two games if that ensures he's healthy for Weeks 14-16.
Most leagues have a trading deadline. Ours was prior to week 10......basher said:I would imagine Turner would be a nice buy low if you have a playoff position sewn up.
Why so confused? If your trade deadline is this week and the owner of turner is in need of bodies to get into the playoffs ... it would seem logical to make a trade for him since he has a couple soft matchups come playoff time.basher said:I would imagine Turner would be a nice buy low if you have a playoff position sewn up.![]()
High Ankle sprains generally continue to linger....that would probably be the caution people have with trading for Turner. Why so confused? And this makes him a buy low, since the Turner owners also know this.I have Turner and Snelling, but would much rather have Turner in there, obv. Snelling is nice, but not the talent Turner is, IMO. I wouldn't mind Snelling ripping it up this week, however. I think it's too good of a matchup, makes me worry that it will be split between Norwood, if he is back.High Ankle sprains generally continue to linger....that would probably be the caution people have with trading for Turner. Why so confused? Snelling was effective v. the Giants, good hands, great size - in betwen the tackles kinda RB - so I cannot imagine him losing too many touches to Jerious coming off injury. How much was Charles affected by Kolby Smith coming off PUP? Minimal...I see the current situation as analogous.Any word on turner for this week.. i read some people saying 2 weeks at the earliest... What about Norwood if he comes back and turner does not who starts??
I would imagine a lot of turner owners are fighting for a playoff spot. If you have some depth he might be worth it if you can pry him cheaper then normal .... their mindset should be getting a seat at the table and not worrying as much about taking home the trophyI'm in 3 redraft leagues and our trade deadlines were 11-25 days ago.Regardless, if you own Turner, you spent a 2nd, 3rd or 4th pick of the draft on him. He's been outstanding, so not sure why you think an ankle sprain makes him a sell low.I suppose some leagues might have fools would sell him cheap, so you never know.
Not really. Kolby Smith sucks. Norwood is actually talented. While he won't be the bell cow, a healthy Norwood deserves at least 5-10 touches per game.Snelling was effective v. the Giants, good hands, great size - in betwen the tackles kinda RB - so I cannot imagine him losing too many touches to Jerious coming off injury. How much was Charles affected by Kolby Smith coming off PUP? I'm not saying Kolby is more talented, but he does have 9 career starts - he's had some effective games.Jerious has, what, 2 starts in 4 years? Not really. Kolby Smith sucks. bump for any wednesday updates...the news on turner's ankle/playing time has been sparse.:anxioussnellingowner:
Norwood practicing in full is not great news for Snelling's prospects.Nothing new, except confirmation it was a partial practice. Via twitter on Smitty's presser. (J Michael Moore is a blogger for the atl team website)FalconsJMoore Smith: Jerious Norwood and Roddy White practiced in full. Michael Turner was limited.
The bigger question is how effective he'll be and how many carries he'll get when he returns. I have no idea what the historical production is for RB's in their first game back from a high ankle sprain.(RotoWire) Turner (ankle) was back at practice on Wednesday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Analysis: This bodes well for his chances of returning in Week 12, but we'll need to see how he progresses throughout the week before increasing our confidence in deploying him on Sunday. High ankle sprains are often a four-week injury for a running back, but Turner may be a quick healer. Jason Snelling will be on hold as his replacement for the second straight week depending on how things play out.
Unless you have him on your ff team with no snellingIt does not make sense to rush Turner back vs. Bucs when Snelling proved himself a capable replacement.
Jay Glazer just reported that Turner WILL play this weekend.
Ehhh, Maybe I heard wrong here at the house. . . .It wasnt the written report, it was on TV durring the pregame.Jay Glazer just reported that Turner WILL play this weekend. This report says "think":Nov. 26, 12:20 p.m. Michael Turner - RB, AtlantaFOX's Jay Glazer reports that the Falcons "think" Michael Turner will return from his high ankle sprain Sunday against Tampa Bay.Fantasy Source spin: Stay tuned for more updates.Next 3: TB (32nd in run defense; 168.9 ypg), PHI, NO. Bye week: 4 Did Glazer change his mind on what he heard?Sounds to me that this is what any coach would tell a reporter, even if their star were on crutches..

Why did they list him as questionable then...?Michael Turner (questionable, ankle) is expected to play Sunday, sources tell NFL.com's Steve Wyche.
Wyche is a reliable source as he used to cover the Falcons for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Turner will still test his ankle sprain in warmups, but Wyche says there were enough positive signs in practice that the Falcons consider him probable to play. Turner will start if he's active and Jason Snelling needs to be on benches.

Looks like Turner's good to go
I don't get it either. They are either lying about the injury and it wasn't as bad as they made it, or they are lying about his injury status and want Tampa to think he will play. Either way they are lying and manipulating the injury report just like every other team. The NFL injury report is bunk. The team lists him as questionable but they really think he is probable? WTF is that. This just doesn't make any sense to me. It's not like Snelling stunk up the joint, and while I understand that the Falcons NEED this game, we're talking about the worst rushing defense in the NFL. Dead Last. El Stinko De Tampa. Why risk the bellcow now? Especially with Norwood back too? This is either Smith blowing smoke and he won't go, or Smith panicking and he will.

Give me your username and password. I'll take care of things while you are working.what s***s for me is I own Snelling and Turner, I'm in a league that is in the first week of playoffs, and I have to go to work at 9am. Unless I can get my break at exactly 12:45 to check I pretty much can say that whoever I play, the other guy will start and get at least 3 TDs. If I CMA and start them both then either have to not start P. Thomas or Heath Miller (flex)
