Michael Vick outplayed Peyton Manning today (1 Viewer)

I think it's about time people start realizing that Michael Vick is the true MVP of the NFL, not "golden boys" like Drew Brees, Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. After all the hate he's been undeservedly given over the years, it's nice to see him pick apart a guy like Manning that certain people like to hold up as the standard bearer of the NFL. All Vick does is win games, no matter where he plays and how little talent he has around him.

Ummm, Ill be the first to say Vick's been great for the times he's been in there but he's missed 3 games out of 8 while peyton has been on fire for most of this season. Lets not go overboard here.

I agree with KRS. Also, Vick's style of play is very aesthetically pleasing. He throws very tight spirals and it almost looks like he's gliding out there when he's running.

Vick didn't have a great passing day but his running ability makes him money as a fantasy QB. How many RBs did he outproduce today?

How does one QB take apart another?

How much hate has been thrown Vick's way undeservedly?

How many big games has Vick won without talent around him?

Why am I responding to this post?

How did Vick pick apart Manning?? Was he playing on D as well??I agree Vick has looked very good, but that part of your statement doesnt make sense, and neither does saying "how little talent he has around him" when he has D-Jax, Maclin, McCoy, Celek and an underrated guy like Avant.

If you were the Eagles GM, and the Colts offered you a straight up trade of Peyton Manning for Michael Vick, would you take it? Apparently the OP would.

I don't think he would according to his posts. Vick > Manning is what I'm getting from KRS.

Vick has 1,278 yards on 161 attempts and 9 TDs with 0 INTs in basically 4 games worth of work and is 3-0 in games he's started and finished. You find me another QB putting in that kind of work this year.

He was vilified while in Atlanta. They had revolving doors for coaches and receivers while he was there, and he was still winning games and leading his team deep into the playoffs. His receivers dropped balls left and right, but the blame was placed at his feet b/c he throws "an uncatchable ball". Looks like DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and LeSean McCoy don't have any trouble catching his balls.

Larger sample size couldnt hurt. Especially since off the top of my head 2 of those wins are DET and JAX

Ah, thought you were trying to say he was undeserving of the hatred after the dog fighting became public. I agree that people were pretty unreasonable about his on-field production in Atlanta.

And two of them were against division leaders Green Bay and Indianapolis, who also happened to represent the AFC in the SB last year. I know to some people, he could beat every division leader on the road 7 games in a row and it wouldn't be enough. The numbers speak for themselves though.

I don't even want to get into the unequal treatment over the dogfighting thing. There's a QB out there right now who is a serial rapist who got off with a slap in the wrist compared to what Vick got.

Agreed. I think Vick should definitely be on the short list for league MVP--as long as he keeps playing like he has. With Vick healthy, I think the Eagles are a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Without him, they are just another team imo. He adds an element that I don't think any other player in the league adds right now. And he's fun to watch...

OK, now I know this whole thing is a fishing trip.
I think I sat by KRS at the bar today, or perhaps it is that there are knuckleheads in every local and he is ours. What are ya drinking, KRS?

Long way to go, but if he doesn't throw a pick and continues to win, he'll be in the discussion.

I'm starting to come around to the thinking he should be re-signed by the Eagles. I also think his play has validated Reid's decision to move McNabb. I don't think the Eagles beat the Colts with Donovan under center (especially this year's version).

He's a lot more polished QB than he used to be. I'd rather have that and less speed any day of the week and he looked pretty damn fast to boot. Mike Vick has matured as a QB for sure.

You don't think rape is serious?Back to the point, whether it is increased maturity or just hard work, Vick is a better QB now then he was in Atlanta. Nobody's complaining that he can't read a defense or throw a touch pass anymore. If you look at him for what he is this year and not judge him on his past he's easily top 5.
