Manning for not making it to the Super Bowl in his still young career, or Vick because he isn't your prototypical QB.

I'm shocked at the poll. Peyton should be running away with this.

Even the fans of opposing teams should enjoy watching Vick play, no other QB does the things he does in the NFL. Peyton is a very good QB, but unless you're trying to show a high schooler the fundamentals, I'd rather watch Vick play any day.

From an FF perspective, I don't hate either of these guys. NFL Championships mean nothing in FF, and if the opportunity cost wasn't so high to to obtain him, I'd love to have him on any roster...

SLIGHT HIJACK: POSSIBLE DRAFT STRATEGY

Depending on how your draft shakes out, I think there's a tremendous potential play in serpentine drafts (12 team Leagues or smaller), this year if you're in possession of Picks 1-3, perhaps even 1-5 depending on how your League scoring works:

Draft the RB that falls to you from LJ, LT, SAlex, and possibly Portis or Tiki, again depending on your League scoring...

If amazing value at RB/RB or RB/WR falls to you at your Rd2/Rd3 turn, and League scoring works to your advantage, trade your 1st Rd RB to the guy who drafted Manning in the 1st or 2nd (once again, where he goes will depend on your League scoring) for Manning. Depending on the acumen of that owner, you might even be able to get additional considerations...

I'd have to wait until I'd actually made my Rd 2 pick, and see what was falling to me in the early 3rd before pulling the trigger, but it's something I'm going to look at if I have an early 1st Rd pick...

Vick: once again, from an FF perspective, I don't hate him unless I own Roddy White or Michael Jenkins in a Dynasty League. Once again, if the opportunity cost is not too great, he's a quality draft pick if you can wait on QB, and can work him into a 3QB platoon, just based on what he can bring to the table with a quality start. I'd have to be drafting near a turn where I could draft a consistent but unspectacular upper tier QB (I'm thinking Delhomme, Bledsoe, Brees, TGreen, Plummer et al) and take Vick on the way back, and then grab a lower tier QB with upside (thinking Leftwich, Carr, Kitna, Big Ben) as insurance, but I think Vick is quite rosterable in a QBBC, with outstanding matchup play potential...

Now, from a non FF perspective, Peyton is not the Manning I hate...

...Eel-eye, however...well, I can't stand that punk...

I think neither is "hated". You have to win to be hated.
Both are hated - there's NO doubt abut it. Mostly because of media hype. You're plain wrong.Oh - Peyton wins this one - the playoff problems, his record in college, and the fact that his dad played QB and also lost a lot is why he beats Vick in the "who's hated more" contest.

This should be very simple to answer.... It's Vick no doubt because he lets down his fantasy owners where as Manning does not.

Overrated and hate are two different things. To me football is so much of a team game, that I don't hate players. Maybe a team, but not a player.

That's fine that you don't hate players - it doesn't mean others feel the same way.

These are hate crimes. You can go to jail for that.

:goodposting: Except in 1992, when he helped me win a title -- heck, he was a 3rd RB who threw TD passes. Since then, not so much.

I believe that's why MV is frowned on by a lot of people - they see the talent, the athleticism, and think that it necessarily translates into FF points...but they don't.

PM? Nice guy who can't seem to beat Florida, win a playoff game, get his order right at Burger King, etc. Kinda the Ziggy of the NFL.

The lovable loser? I was looking at it more from a NFL perspective than a FF perspective. The only time I've owned either is last year with Vick, drafted him as the #11 QB, and got Bledsoe a little later. Worked out well, but I can see how people who don't draft well can hate the player they reached for.
