Mike Thomas JAX? (1 Viewer)

With Sims-Walker listed as doubtful, Thomas will clearly be the #1.

Does he present any value? Excluding his hail Mary reception last week, he had a pretty good game.

Anybody considering starting him and if so, over who?

I am debating between him and Ajiritutu.

I'm giving him the nod over BMW, but not sure over Amendola/Gibson. I think I just may considering he will be the undisputed #1.

In Wk 1 & 4 when Sims-Walker was virtually absent, Thomas put up 6/89 and 5/68. So hopefully that is his floor.

Is he a deep threat?

No that would be Underwood(rutgers product). Thomas will catch the intermediate routes and get what he can in space.

I'm doing the opposite. Starting BMW as my WR#3 over Thomas. I realize FBG's has him ranked top 10 and ahead of BMW, but I don't trust Garrard to consistently put up numbers, and with MSW out, I think it rolls coverage over to Thomas's side.

check out what happened to him in bloom's rankings
I saw, #10 this week. But do you trust it? I think MSW out is actually not a good thing. I always respect FBG's opinion, but my gut tells me to bench him.ETA: I missed the Bloom reference. He has him at #25. I agree more with this.

Debating Mike Wallace, Mike Thomas and Andre Johnson for my 4th WR spot.
 AJ at your 4th WR spot? That's crazy. And about the question at hand, I have Thomas on the bench while starting Mike Williams (TB), Hakeem Nicks, Greg Jennings, Frank Gore and Darren McFadden.

He is a good start most weeks in ppr. Really like this guy...
Agreed. I love this guy's consistency in PPR. He's been consistently putting up at least 15 points for the last few weeks. I consider him a WR3/4 in most of my leagues. Last week I started him over Ocho because of Ocho's inconsistency. I figured Ocho would blow up and he did, but the hail mary catch evened things out anyway. I'm a little concerned with MSW being out. I don't know if he'll be as high as #10, but he has caught pretty much everything thrown to him.

I am crazy enough that I am starting Thomas over Andre Johnson in my non PPR league and Hines Ward in my PPR League. I love his match-up at home against Cleveland, and Houston vs the Jets just worries me. Never bench your studs they say...I may well learn this lesson the hard way this weekend!

I am and was starting him before knowing this news about Sims-Walker. Have Ajirotutu too, but benching him. (WR 3)

PPR starting Thomas over AJ

My thinking is Thomas is a very safe bet for double digit points and a high ceiling with MSW likely out, AJ on Revis Island has a higher % chance for single digit points vs a major blowout game.

With rain and 20+mph winds being called for in SF I am playing him over Crabtree in one league and M.Williams in another.

Solid start in PPR, but he still hasn't shown that game breaking potential on the field so I would prefer he stay on the bench in non ppr. Silver lining, with Sheldon Brown banged up Eric Wright keeps his starting job for at least one more week and a repeat of Holmes' TD last week is certainly possible, this time for Thomas.

Garrard's greatest weakness is reading defenses, curious to see what they this week against a confusing one like Cleveland's. Attacking Eric Wright in single coverage and Marcedes across the middle taking advantage of Fujita being out seems the most logical choice.

^^^ That. And I expect a fair amount of 2 TE sets with the other Zach Miller using his speed to attack downfield.

Not a lot of yards early in the 3rd, but he got a TD. I'm not regretting having started this guy.

MSW has a high ankle sprain and could be out for while now. Significant bump for Thomas and Lewis.

Rotoworld

Mike Sims-Walker has been diagnosed with a high right ankle sprain.

MSW has been a fantasy goat, but his absence was noticeable against the Browns in Week 11. David Garrard had no downfield threat, and fill-in Tiquan Underwood was easily the worst player on the field, dropping multiple passes including a sure touchdown. Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times Union confirms that Sims-Walker has a "multi-week injury," the timetable for which is usually a month to six weeks. Sims-Walker can be dropped in fantasy leagues. Mike Thomas and Marcedes Lewis both get sizable bumps.

Another week w/o MSW, and another high ranking in the cheat sheet. But are folks on board? Giants D, on the road. I think he's a marginal WR3/Flex this week, not WR1. Thoughts?

I saw the high ranking and scratched my head as well. Not much else to throw to in Jax besides Lewis. I'm on the fence with Thomas. He has really come through these past 2 weeks. Just see the Giants trying to shut him down. I guess the real question is whether or not you think Garrard will get the pass protection. I dont have alot of confidence in the Giants secondary. I think their high D rating is based on how successful the pash rush is. Shoot, Kitna put up 300 on them. If you think Garrard will have time, then Thomas can certainly beat whichever DB is guarding him...

I have started him the past two weeks after drafting him and sitting him on the bench the entire season. I will probably go with him again this week, as I trust him more than Hines Ward, and Mike Williams Seattle is not likely to play.

With that said, I don't buy into the top 10 ranking. The early projections have went from being decent to being almost useless at this point in the season. On Tuesday's, I honestly believe that they are simply taking the previous week's rankings and slightly adjusting them. There doesn't appear to be any significant thought or analysis behind them.
