One of my buddies just text me, "Rumor has Mike Wallace going to Miami for Reggie Bush & picks."

Anyone hear something more substantial?

I suppose the Steelers would listen but they have repeatedly said that Wallace is not going to be traded. From a fan's perspective one of the picks better be a 1st even with Bush or I wouldn't do it.ETA - Supposedly Wallace flew to Pittsburgh Saturday night and will report this week. He will not play in the Steelers final preseason game on Thursday.

This trade could happen as early as tomorrow......

Madden 13 comes out and people will be looking to make moves in franchise mode.

We'll know more in the next several hours. Sounds like it's headed to the previously reported conclusion:http://plus.sites.post-gazette.com/index.php/pro-sports/steelers/117777-ed-acquiring-a-guard-not-the-solution
Make that Tuesday:http://www.steelersdepot.com/2012/08/report-steelers-wr-mike-wallace-to-arrive-tuesday/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+SteelersDepotBlog+%28Steelers+Depot+Blog%29

WHYYYYYYY is he dragging this out like this? Is he trying to prove a point? Just likes his vacation?
There is a new rule in the CBA that a player signing his contract cannot practice for 3 days. By waiting until Tuesday it guarantees that Wallace will not play in the Steelers final preseason game on Thursday.

Isn't Bush at the end of his contract and what would this do to his value?
As a Bush and Lamar Miller owner this is would be a wet dream (since i have no faith in Daniel Thomas anyway), but more for the Miller end. I think it would hurt Bush's value some, he'd very likely be back to his Saints type roll since the Steelers have plenty of cowbell types (if any can stay/get healthy) and Big Ben is such a red zone/goal line weapon himself. I don't think it would kill him but it would raise some legitimate question marks about being a strongly viable RB2. I would expect less touches but more room to get loose, and hence big games and quiet games (while I expect more consistency in Miami since he's going to get lots of touches but every player on the defense keying on him). Definitely hurts his PPR value. Its all academic though, rumors...

Why does he not want to play in the Preseason game? Just trying not to get hurt?
I am sure that is a big part of it but possibly also to send a message to the Steelers that he is unhappy about the situation.
Pretty sure that message was sent and received over a month ago. I just don't get what he thinks he is accomplishing by staying away.
I am sure too but he may feel he is making a point by not reporting until the last minute. There is also the remote possibility that he is still considering a longer holdout. My guess is that it really comes down to making sure he can't play any preseason games.

Or, maybe it is today after all? :wall: http://burgh.us/fsx"Report: Keenan Lewis Says Mike Wallace Will Show Up Todayat 12:07 pm by Dave Bryan Despite Pittsburgh Steelers restricted free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace not being spotted by the media this morning at the Steelers facilities, Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports now via Twitter that cornerback Keenan Lewis said that his teammate and childhood friend will show up on Monday."Meanwhile, Antonio Brown just said it's tomorrow...

Exactly. He doesn't want to play Thursday. Zero sense risking it from either side in that game, but Wallace wants to make certain he's not eligible to play against Carolina.

Hmm...

From The Miami Hearald's Adam Beasley in the past hour...

One thing I can say with certainty: At least one receiver will be on the team's opening-day roster that is not with the team now. Maybe more

I'm hearing that the Ireland was not blowing smoke when he told me yesterday that the Dolphins are absolutely in the market to trade for WR.

Adam Beasley ‏@AdamHBeasley

And they might be swinging for the fences, and not settling for some of the lesser names you hear. More later...

Hattip to ChuckLiddell

Certainly seems like Miami is trying to get SOMETHING done.

TO and Plaxico are available.Unless they offer something really outlandish I don't see the Steelers trading Wallace.

They'd have to be thinking of a 1st round pick and either Bush or Thomas. I don't see Bush as a fit in Pittsburgh. Thomas maybe.Or maybe they are offering an olineman?

Strange stuff is brewing at the Circle K my friends.
