Mikel Leshoure and Jahvid Best situation (1 Viewer)

Jahvid Best (concussion) will not play again this season, Mlive.com reports, meaning Leshoure will likely be Detroit's feature back for the remainder of the year.

Recommendation: It's a tough blow for the Lions' backfield depth, but especially for Best, whose career certainly looks to be in jeopardy. Leshoure won't likely see a ton of pressure from Joique Bell for carries in the short term.

Sorry if repost, didn't see it posted.

Not that this is too surprising, but at least we know that Leshoure is the lead back for the remainder of the season.

 I like everything I've seen from Bell so far and no health issues. It is Leshoure's job to lose, but I think Bell is far from a scrub and Leshoure is far from a must start.

I have both on my team, and it looks like LeShoure has got to be the starter over Bell. It's strange that the ROS re-drafts have him so low. Any back that starts in that Det. offense -- or what we think it should be -- is worth a fairly good amount.

 While everyone was talking about Best, this guy was thinking "value" and Joique Bell is the definition of situational value prior to Best being announce out but now Bell is real value. Especially since he's done a lot with the touches he's had and like was just stated, LeShoure is far from a sure thing.. I love this situation for a guy like Bell. If anyone gets the chance, check out his college highlight tapes, just don't come back here and tell me that it's bc he played D2. The kid can play and he's proving it slowly but surely.

The problem is no one in Detroit's backfield is going to do all that much this year.

With the split between Leshoure an Bell plus the defenses they play it's tough sledding

in Detroit for any real production, there also just not a great run blocking team either.

Technically Best hasn't been ruled out for the season yet, so there is a remote chance he could still play if doctors clear him. The Lions have until Nov. 5 to activate Best off the PUP list or he can’t play this season. It seems very unlikely that this will happen, but he hasn't been officially shelved yet.

Yeah, Schwartz has left the door open for a return, but that seems very far-fetched. Only reason I still have Best on my roster is because there's virtually no RB's worth anything on the wavier wire (maybe Lamar Miller as a stash candidate?). Guess I could grab a WR or TE, but it's not likely to be anyone I'd end up regularly starting.
