Minnesota at New Orleans (1 Viewer)

Brees wasn't down and there was no whistle? What the #### was the defender supposed to do?

Serious question here. Not being a Richard.

It's 2014 ... That's called every time now.
:goodposting: Watching the play live my first thought as soon as he did was, "well there comes the flag" and sure enough.. When you have the QB wrapped up, you just don't slam him to the ground now.. It's the way it's been for a few years now.

Just hold on.. He had him wrapped up, he wasn't going anywhere.. there just wasn't any need to slam him backwards into the ground.. If it was reversed and that was Bridgewater getting slammed down and they didn't throw the flag us Purple fans would be screaming about no flag.. :penalty: every time now.

You just hug him till the ref blows the whistle?
yep.. It is the way the NFL is now.. The QB is fully protected.. If you have him wrapped up in your arms just keep hugging until he either returns the  or the refs blow the whistle ;)

IF the NFL has commited to protecting QBs then blow the freakin whistle when they are wrapped up like that.

Hmmm. ... Sean Payton has ditched the bad-luck glasses :D

...

Bridgewater looks like 2003 Michael Vick.

Encouraging to see Jennings and Patterson both putting up numbers with Teddy at QB. Makes you wonder why teams expected to be bad don't just start their rookie QB
