Does anyone else feel that FBG's ranking of the Minny defense at #6 this week vs. 49ers is much too high? The entire middle of their defense is questionable including DT's Pat Williams and Kevin Williams and MLB Napoleon Harris. Darren Sharper is also dinged up. This could be huge for the Niners, as Gore has shown he can run between the tackles - he also gained over 100 yrds. vs. a healthy CHI D last weekend. The Vikings are also playing on a short week.

We saw last Monday night that if you spread the Minny defense (ala Brady), they can be had through the air. If they also have trouble stopping Gore due to the injuries, the Niners could easily go off this weekend. Any thoughts?

The Vikings def reminds me of the Colts def last year fantasy wise. This is a fine example why you don't EVER pay high for a defense. I remember a few years back when the Bears were great, then bad, then great, then ok, then great. Defenses are more of a crap shoot than any other starting position in fantasy land.

So, do you agree with the #6 ranking? I personally feel there are other more attractive options out there including OAK D vs. SEA featuring S. Wallace, MoMO, and a banged up DJax. OAK D is ranked #13.

The MN def ranks 3rd in all defenses in all 5 of my dynasty leagues. Maybe that should answer your question. Yes, one could play the matchups each week, but if I had the Vikings def I wouldn't drop them to play those matchups. Not a top 3 def in 2006 I wouldn't.
