MLB in-season thread (2 Viewers)

It's startling to see so many empty seats during the highlights. When the camera pulls back to show a homerun landing, the grandstands can't be a third full.

And not just in the Bob Uecker seats. The Kansas City game had rows of empty seats right behind home plate.

To be fair, KC probably charges at least $10, maybe even $15, for those seats.

Assuming Jurrjens continues to pitch the way he has thus far, and with Ubaldo coming back on Monday/Tuesday, I will need to drop at least two people to take them off the DL.Any recommendations?C: Soto1B: Miggy2B: PhillipsSS: Jeter3B: SandovalOFF: Holliday, Abreu, GrandersonUTL: Teixeira, MorneauP: Billingsley, Cahill, Edwin Jackson, Harang, Garza, Shields, Pavano, BrittonRP: Rivera, Hanrahan, Gregg, BurnettBench: Pedro AlvarezDL: Jurrjens, Ubaldo
I agree with MAC. Dump Pavano and Britton.I pretty much have no use for pitcher (Pavano) that has no shot of gettting more than 120-130K's (unless the ratios are phenomenal).Britton is a match-ups play (like much of your staff) and most of his match-ups are dangerous. No matter how shallow the league, I'd always hang onto guys who are getting saves. Absolutely do not just flat out cut Burnett. I don't know how many RP you start, but if you start 3, you need to have at least 4.

I picked him up 2 days ago.4/7, 3 R, 1 HR, 5 RBI:thumbup:
Same here..... and add another single to that tally.
....and another run:wub:
Any Boston homer know if he's an injury waiting to happen or is there reason to believe he can stay healthy all season? I really want to pick him up but with limited pickups I can't afford to pick him up if he's going to spend half the year on the DL.

Twins homers - what's up with Morneau?
You mean aside from the continuing problems associated with the concussion last year? (and several previously)
Yea, I'm talking about the .200 average and zero home runs. I thought everything looked fine spring training.
you weren't looking close enough.
Link? Look, I knew there was a risk. I'm just saying that I haven't been reading anything about lingering concussion effects. Just wondering if he's in a slump or if he's done.

Pretty sure it's just a Sox fan giving you a hard timeHe'll be fine

No...I'm just a Morneau owner from last year. I never saw anything that convinced me he was 100% healthy from this spring.

What's the best site to follow bases (mostly in-game)? I think I'm done with CBS... :bag:

Poked around ESPN, it's better, but so busy. :loco: That's the one thing I liked about CBS. Simple, easy on the eyes. I do not play fantasy, btw.

MLB.com does a pretty good job.

Why???
Well, Donny, when I was checking for IT on Ichiro last night, they did not have up-to-date info on him. He had some hits, yet when I scrolled over his name, it wasn't reflecting that. And I've seen other incorrect info shown there the last few months. For example, shots on goal would be off. Hoops inaccuracies too. It would eventually get corrected, but still. And their info also wasn't as fast as ESPN, at times. It's not a big deal, just thought I'd see what some of you hardball heads use.

Carl Crawford hitting new lows - Sawk rallying with runners at 1st and 3rd with Varitek up with one out.....so Varitek strikes out and Crawford gets thrown out trying to steal second ending the inning

Thanks Chuck...i'll have to keep my eyes open.

Archie Manning as a player was about ten years before my time, but the things I have read about him remind me of what I am seeing with Felix Hernandez.

Manning had to play at 100% level 100% of the time for the Saints to have even the slightest chance of winning. Every pass had to be perfect, every scramble had to gain a 1st down, every everything at all times.

Other than Ichiro, the team is awful offensively and defensively.

I feel bad for the guy.

Question on my Dunkin Donuts 'Sip Scratch Score!' game piece

Who was the youngest player to have consecutive 30-homer seasons, pre-2007?

A. Josh Beckett

B. Ugueth Urbina

C. Miguel Cabrera

d. Dontrelle Willis

:lmao:Ugueth Urbina was the best name in baseball for a while. Does that count for anything?

Yesterday I forgot to put Cole Hamels in my lineup. Today I benched David Price and played Fausto Carmona. That's a whole lot of fail.

Very fitting for the D-train to not be any of the other options.

Brandon Morrow with an ok first start coming back from the DL. He suffered the loss, threw 93 pitches in 5.1 innings with 2bbi, 3 earned runs but with 10k's. Encouraging considering he just got off the DL.
