They're playing multiple guys deep in zone; Blount hasnt made anybody put 8 up yet it seems or anything close to it. Freeman apparently got a reputation as a deep ball thrower last year and they are making it easy for him throw underneath. It's not like JF is checking down b/c MW isnt open. JF's first choice is clearly #82/#34. It would be nice if they put #19 in the slot a little and let him get some of that...

Bad clock management, IMO. They shouldve ran a passing play on 3rd & 1 and if they dont score, then use the final TO. With 20 seconds on the clock, no way their isnt 3-4seconds left if they just do no huddle and throw.

I thought it was dumb to call their last TO and not just run up and spike the ball. It's not like they were 40 yards away from the spot.

If they ran and spiked it wouldve been 4th down though. Still wouldve given them time for the FG, but they wouldnt have had the 1 shot for a TD

Is it a penalty to have a player on the opposing team's sideline or out of play in the back of the end zone? Seems like it'd be faster to get off the field if he had chosen one of those two options rather than running all the way across the field.

I wouldn't say "any pain". I had a compound fracture with radius and ulna crossing paths, wrist hanging off held by skin. Just felt numb. Made my wrestling opponent puke though. So that made me laugh, if that's possible, for a second or two.

Yeah, endorphins kick in when pain quickly goes to an intolerable level in severe injuries and dampen the nerve sensation

That injury had me flash back to the Napoleon McCallum knee injury against the 49ers in the mid 90's, not quite the same injury, but just as gruesome...

I chose not to watch this one, but the Theisman and McCallum injuries are by far the worst I've seen in the NFL. McGahee's in college was pretty brutal, too.

They say 8:30 but by the time they sing the National Anthem, release pretty balloons, some more advertising for ESPN shows, more car commercials, sideline report that no one cares about, back to the booth, back to the sidelines, hold on let's hear from the coach, some more meaningless pre game stats, Gruden pimping every player as a future All Pro, back to the sidelines for an injury update, here comes Chris Berman to remind you to watch him at halftime...dude by the time they kick the ball I can down a 6 pack.

Then here we goooo and kickoff into the parking lot and back to two minutes of commercials. You can get through a couple tivo'd Matlock episodes between Hank and the first play from scrimmage.

....and that long 3rd down conversion that setup the FG is the reason why they need to find a way to put the ball in Mike Williams' hands. Sure Earnest Graham broke a few over the years, but he's a FB. There's no way graham or winslow make that play (well, it's pretty unlikely anyway).-

General observation. Blount isn't approaching the line with the downfield running style he flashed last year. Too often, you see him stutter stepping to the LOS. Yeah, you could say he's setting up blocks, but he needs to quickly choose a hole and step through it with force. He's not getting any momentum on his runs, and occasionally gets low, but he needs to step, cut and turn upfield more. I'm not a Blount owner this year, but I was last year. I'm kind of glad I don't own him this year.

Yeah it was... I remember it so well because it was the first season the Raiders came back to Oakland and that night Jerry Rice lit them up for like 3 TDs and set the all time receiving TD record (I think) he set some kind of record that night. A strange fact about that injury: Ken Norton Jr. was the one who made that awkward tackle on McCallum and I believe in the same season during a different game, he flew into fellow team mate Bryant Young's leg with his helmet causing a compound fracture, another one of the most brutal injuries I've seen, both caused by Norton.

I love the way Blount pounded the Falcons last week. It was an ugly stat line, but you could feel the punishment he was laying out. It wears a defense down. Is he a fantasy superstar. Seems unlikely; too limited in what he does. But perhaps a reliable RB2 for a few years. Just my take...
