Can we start discussing this game. I am excited about it and I didnt see another thread anywhere.

I personally think this game will not be close. Can Baltimore score on Pitt? Their offense has looked putrid. Can Ben have a good passing game against a pretty tough D? I am hoping so, but i can see them pounding it with Willie.

I see 28-10 Steelers.

Steelers should win fairly easily, tho I'd love to see a BAL upset. That would knock another 124 folks outta my survivor league.

good luck with the survivor. I do agree that Pitt should take this one fairly easily. But if Baltimore can hold Parker and force Pitt to make some bad passes then we might see a good ball game. I like Ben and I dont expect him to get flustered, but i wouldnt be surprised by a few off balance interception tosses that he sometimes throws.

If I'm a Stillers fan, then I'm looking forward to getting my revenge tonight for last year. The Ratbirds have not played well for any duration of time this season and tonight has potential rout written all over it.

As of yesterday, there was a good chance that neither McAlister or Samari Rolle will play tonight. Hines Ward could light 'em up.

The only intangible I could think of in favor of Baltimore was that a loss would mean the end of their playoff hopes, based on their remaining schedule, though I'm not sure that football players think that far ahead.

Well I need Big Ben to throw 2 TD's to Holmes to win one league. Then I need Mcgahee to score once to win another. So the final score will be Pitt 14 Bal 7. ;)

I think that would work ok with me in both my leagues. Need Ben to have a good day, but not too good, and can survive a decent day from McGahee.

Small feeling Big Ben goes off in a romp. 34-7 PIT, Roethlisberger throws 4 TDs.
That could happen, especially with Rolle and McAllister not quite 100%. 4 TDs would give Roethlisberger 19 TD passes on the season, which would tie him with Tony Romo for 2nd behind Tom Brady in that category. I'm interested to see if the Ravens can regain their strong defensive form. Remember, this team struggled with the 49ers at home earlier this season. They seem to have Pittsburgh's number though, winning five of their last seven match ups. Baltimore is also 5-0 in their last five games coming off a bye week. On the other hand, Pittsburgh has not lost a Monday Night game at home in more than 16 years, but that was also with Bill Cowher calling the shots. This should be a great game. I'm hoping for a rare point-fest among two strong defenses. I'm also looking forward to seeing Mark Clayton back to form after resting some more during the bye week. He's someone that could enjoy an impressive 2nd half this season if Steve McNair remains at QB. McNair averages 39.2 attempts per game, while Boller is averaging only 23.4.

I'm cautiously optimistic for tonight.

Baltimore spanked us like misbehaving stepchildren last year in both games, and these teams don't like each other to begin with. Baltimore has not been playing great on offense and the Stillers have looked pretty good. They're having a 75 anniversary thing at halftime and a bunch of the old 70s guys will be there....add that to a MNF game and the crowd is going to be jacked.

The next two weeks for Pittsburgh are going to be important....against Balt and against Clev....both of them are above .500 and chomping at our heels. Wins tonight and Sunday will put us in the drivers seat for the AFCN. Losses to either (or both  ) will make things very interesting.

Is McNair capable of exposing Pitt's D? I just can't see it.

Would love to see a heavy dose of FWP once the BAL linebackers have been softened up a bit. I need Willie and Reed to outscore McGahee by 22 pts. in order to win my game. Yes, a tall order but I've seen stranger things happen....

Baltimore Defense is overdue for taking a pick to the paint -- I realize the corner situation is precarious -- I think Pittsburgh starts throwing and Ben delivers the 'skin to the hands of an eager DB-sub who takes it to the paint.

Everything points to a big Steeler win, BUT...

1. In the last 4 games, the Steelers have looked as inconsistent as any team in football, winning, losing, winning, losing...

2. Steve MacNair OWNS the Steelers. He has a tremendous record against them through the years.

3. Even when they're down, the Ravens always play tight against the Steelers.

Against all this, I think the Steelers want to send the same message to the NFL that Dallas sent last night: namely, that there are relevant teams beyond the Big Two. Look for a big win tonight for Pittsburgh...

Rainy and windy tonight in Steeltown...could be tough passing!!
Pretty nice right now. Mid 50s, no rain yet, not much wind.
weather.com says rain should be coming in soon, with showers continuing during the game.BTW: Why is it every time Baltimore plays in prime time the weather is The Suck? The Ravens offense is dreadful enough without the rain, does God really not want anyone to watch?

Hey, this gives me hope. The guy I'm playing with is out of players and I have Big Ben, FWP, and Heath Miller. What do you think?

I think the Steelers will win but I sure like Baltimore +9. The Ravens have won 3 of the past 4 meetings and their only loss was by a field goal in 2005. As someone else mentioned McNair always plays well against the Steelers. I expect a low scoring game with little running room for either team:

Steelers 17

Ravens 13

Let me be the first to :towelwave:
Oh, yeah? how about a :obc: for the Baltimore crowd!??!(But more likely we'll just :bag: )
Maybe if the Ravens throw some Old Bay in the eyes of the Steelers players......To me, this has blowout written all over it. The Ravens haven't been performing well in any facet of the game for any amount of time this season and I could see the Stillers lighting them up tonight: 37-9 or something like it.

It's divisional so who really knows.......but I'm hoping Pittsburgh gets revenge for last year.

Only thing for sure is there will be a bunch of SNOT KNOCKING goin on.

Go Steelers!! Drink heavily!!

Given McNair's performance the past couple years I'd tend to agree....but as mentioned here already, dude has just used Pittsburgh as his personal b#^%#$ for too many years for me to not respect him, even if he's beat up and looks like he's got the body of a 100 year old now. It's going to have to be on McNair, though, because I just don't see McGahee doing much damage against that Steeler run D, if Aaron Smith is back and anywhere near 100%.

Yep, just came in to update. But it does look like the line of showers will move through and be gone by gametime.

We Baltimorons are certainly a gloomy bunch today. I suggest we start drinking heavily.
We pittsburghers are certainly a happy bunch today. I suggest we start drinking heavily. :suds:
I suggest that those of you (on both sides) just starting to drink heavily are rather late to the party, but no time like the present to try to catch up. :suds: :X : :lmao: :goodposting:

Goooood. I want the Steelers to stick to a running game. With winds howling and rain/prep should make the ball slick....keep the scores down :bag:

Can we start discussing this game. I am excited about it and I didnt see another thread anywhere. I personally think this game will not be close. Can Baltimore score on Pitt? Their offense has looked putrid. Can Ben have a good passing game against a pretty tough D? I am hoping so, but i can see them pounding it with Willie. Not a prediction thread but I see 28-10 Steelers.
this will be a coming out party for S. Holmes tonight..he's going to tear it up!

I hope so! I really like Holmes as a player. Ben should be able to find him frequently with the full arsenal toninght.

It better be from outside the 20, cause Hines Ward will be the man in the redzone. :wall:

League 1: I need Miller to outscore Ward.

League 2: I need Ben to outscore Parker and Holmes.

League 3: I need Ben to amass like 40 points.

So I need Ben to throw for 400 yards and 4 TDs, all to Miller (though 1 to another TE or FB would be OK.)
