MNF - Game Thread (1 Viewer)

Whose wonderful idea was it to play this god-awful Mazda: The Musical commercial over and over again during a FOOTBALL GAME.

:hifive:

God I hope Davenport rips one off...
:hifive:
I already won my game funny guy. And no, Davenport is not on my team.
I think he was referencing the propensity Davenport has for defecating in inappropriate areas...How do you get around with that giant chip on your shoulder?
My bad. I don't know that the joke is there. But, thanks for always being there.

What was the McGahee injury?
Looked like a shoulder.... throwing a low block on a blitz pick up.
That lesbian just said it was a concussion.
Tell me it ain't so and it's only rumor  that'd be total buzzkill
Yeah, I dont know how bad it will be.. those damn concussion things can make them hold him out. I picked up Musa Smith just in case...but I had to drop Norwood to do it

I was referring to SK not WM

Looking ahead on their schedule, who's left that the Ravens can beat? Miami? Hell, even that's down there and they just might be facing a team desperate for its first win. The return match against Cincy at home? Maybe, I guess. The other six games are against demonstrably superior teams and 5-11 suddenly looms on the horizon. The team is stale and in decline and this really could mean the end of the Billick era.

The Ravens defense is still pretty good although they didn't show it last night. They were playing on short fields the entire 1st half and without their starting CBs. When/if they can get healthy and the offense doesn't turn the ball over the defense is capable of keeping the game close. What they really need to do is make the switch to Boller for the rest of season. He's no Rex Grossman but McNair has lost it.

Oh man, was that sweet. Revenge for last year and I needed 5 TDs from Roethlisberger/Ward to win my fantasy matchup. Unreal. I was practically floating around the house last night.

There's two things they could have done last night to help out the green beans at the corners. First, the offense could have been reasonably competent and stopped giving up short fields to the Stillers O. Second, the front seven could have put greater pressure on Ben than they did. It seemed like the first 3 TD passes came after Ben had escaped the first wave of the pass rush (he's really good at this, BTW). That put added pressure on the new guys and they weren't up to the task.I saw a wide shot on Holmes' second TD, I think, where the Stillers had sent both WRs on fly patterns down opposite sidelines and poor Ed Reed was wandering helplessly in the middle of the field wondering who to help -- because they both needed it.

I know I've been dwelling on the Ravens' shortcomings in this thread so let me say that the Stillers are pretty good this year. I am especially envious of their QB.

I WAS floating around -- in my seat! Man was it wet out there but it was a great time. It was really great seeing the 75th anniversary team out on the field. It was also nice to see Cowher on the field as well -- it really fired up the players. Now let's put away the Brownies...

 I heard that Ray Ray went off after the game in regards to the offense continually putting the D with their backs to the wall. While I don't think it's necessarily good for the team's health that Lewis says those things in public, I agree with him on content. I think anything short of the playoffs is probably doom for Billick. It's time for some fresh blood anyway, I think. The established personalities have been here just a tad too long at this point. Billick, Lewis, Ogden, and a bunch more could very likely be gone next season.

He did go off -= but it was a pretty lame rant.

Talking about stopping FWP - and second half stats (the game was OVA Ray-Ray)

You cannot throw your offense under the bus in public. And when you get your ### handed to you - sometimes you take your lumps quietly - congratulate the other team for being more prepared and move on. He should have been talking about next week and what he can do to give the team a better chance to win.

Ray is a great LB - but I can't stand hearing him speak.

A win over the Browns at home next week gives the Steelers effectively a 3-game lead on the division with 7 to play. Technically, they'd only be up two games, but either Cleveland or Baltimore would be forced to finish a game ahead of Pittsburgh as a win over Cleveland would give the Steelers the head-to-head sweep and also guarantee they finish with a better division record than Baltimore. With games against the Jets, Dolphins, and Rams still on the docket, a win next week would essentially force either Baltimore or Cleveland to finish 6-1 to even have a prayer. HUGE game at Heinz next weekend.

Agreed. I understand the frustration of your offense turning the ball over but that doesn't mean the defense gets off the hook. The Ravens D was shredded last night... no excuses for that Ray.

Let me be the first to :goodposting:
Oh, yeah? how about a :goodposting: for the Baltimore crowd!??!(But more likely we'll just :bag: )
Maybe if the Ravens throw some Old Bay in the eyes of the Steelers players......To me, this has blowout written all over it. The Ravens haven't been performing well in any facet of the game for any amount of time this season and I could see the Stillers lighting them up tonight: 37-9 or something like it.
This was another accurate prediction. :) Props to Uruk-Hai.

Yeah, RayRay was so proud what they did vs in the second half, facing our 2nd QB with about 28 straight running plays. Granted, they shut down FWP like they usually do, but their D got chewed up and spit out last night.

Nice silver lining there, Ray. :)

Fixed. He is still good, but I don't think he is great any more. He as lost a step ... quite a few actually. Hell, Kreider should have had a TD if he didn't drop the ball last night, and that was Ray's man and Ray was 2 steps late.

Baltimore homers - any early word on McGahee? Mild concussion should be back next week, or something more serious? TIA
