Unwatchable league. Jai-alai. Only reason to watch is gambling or fantasy, and that's becoming suspect with these calls.
Nope….flag…sacking the QB 15 yards. Automatic 1st down.So you are no longer alowed to sack the QB????
terrible call. but from the vantage point of where the ref was standing, understandable. two of them viewing the play from Jones's backside so no way they saw the fumble or the fact that he put his left hand down not to fall on Carr.
my go to IPA. cigar city for the win.Unwatchable league. Jai-alai. Only reason to watch is gambling or fantasy, and that's becoming suspect with these calls.
that’ll never happen, they are on opposing teams today but could be on the same team tomorrow. it’s not the qb’s fault that the refs are throwing these flags it’s the owners making the real money not wanting their bread makers getting hurtIf I'm a defensive lineman, I might decide to get my money's worth.
The Chiefs probably win Week 3 if they have him instead of Ammendola.59 yards from a 1st day on the job kicker. Wow. Nice! May have been good from 59 feet 10 inches.
Let’s go brandonwhat were the fans chanting right before that kick?
Disparaging the flag is flaggable offense!Nope….flag…sacking the QB 15 yards. Automatic 1st down.So you are no longer alowed to sack the QB????
Could I BE any more irate?Man, Matthew Perry was pissed.
This was worse than the Brady call. Jones literally had the ball in his hands, so how can you rough the passer when he is no longer the passer? Not to mention that it's freaking football. Like Aikman said, might as well put dresses on them.No dog in the fight, and maybe im alone but im tired of seeing 300 pound guys plant\land their full weight on qbs and broken collar bones, shoulders etc. Don't care if its Mahomes, Carr, Rodgers, Burrow or whoever, I want to see them play. I think the lg wants to see D lineman roll to one side or other on such plays and they aren't going to do it unless they call it. Reasonable minds can disagree, its all good. No comparison to the crap Brady call imho.
Except in this case, he didn't plant his full weight and actually got his hand out to not put full weight. A perfect play on Jones part.No dog in the fight, and maybe im alone but im tired of seeing 300 pound guys plant\land their full weight on qbs and broken collar bones, shoulders etc. Don't care if its Mahomes, Carr, Rodgers, Burrow or whoever, I want to see them play. The league is a joke now.
@TomPelissero: Chris Jones just became the first player in NFL history called for roughing the passer while holding the ball.
i hate this idea, but it's the only logical way to get things right and calls like this should be reviewable somehow. it was that bad.All penalties should be able to be challenged. The hell with time, lets get it right.
Can you land on the quarterback? This was worse than the Brady call. Jones literally had the ball in his hands, so how can you rough the passer when he is no longer the passer? I agree. QBs are too valuable. Everybody wants to see the big hits but then you are watching Chad Henne lead your team to 6 points a game. Just change the rule to wrapping up the QBs, admit they are too valuable to the product and let’s move on.No dog in the fight, and maybe im alone but im tired of seeing 300 pound guys plant\land their full weight on qbs and broken collar bones, shoulders etc. Don't care if its Mahomes, Carr, Rodgers, Burrow or whoever, I want to see them play. Should just require two hand touch to sack the QB if that is roughing
Should just put flags on QB at this point. No dog in the fight, and maybe im alone but im tired of seeing 300 pound guys plant\land their full weight on qbs and broken collar bones, shoulders etc. Don't care if its Mahomes, Carr, Rodgers, Burrow or whoever, I want to see them play. carr’s leg landed on top of his so he would have been down at the spot of the fumbleAfter all the Huffing and Puffing and being personally offended watching the personal foul roughing the passer overturn the play.
Jones strip sacked Carr and recovered the football on the way down, it should have been the Chiefs ball 1st Down in Raiders territory after scoring a TD to cut the lead to 10 and possibly cutting it further to say 17-14 at the Half vs 20-10.
Just want to make sure we go beyond the egregious call itself and what it prevented from happening.
Are either QB in concussion protocol with all these big hits?

I was wondering why it couldn't be both. Possession changed before the roughing.@TomPelissero: Chris Jones just became the first player in NFL history called for roughing the passer while holding the ball.
I wonder if Reid could challenge that is was a fumble and thus couldn’t be roughing??
The obvious defensive holding call?well there`s your make up call boys ...happy now?

Maybe while in the pocket? I don’t know. But this ain’t it either. They have to make things clearer.I agree. QBs are too valuable. The only way that really works is if the QB can’t run after dropping back to pass, which I don’t think would ever fly.
Thats how I saw it, I thought he came down on Carr with all his weight and thats what they called. For those claiming he braced with his arms, thats not at all how I saw it and the ball coming out simultaneously is irrelevant. Again, I know i'm in the minority here and thats fine, I don't like either team one way or the other, just how I saw it. It's all good, reasonable minds can disagree. Can you land on the quarterback? This was worse than the Brady call. The league is a joke now.
When tackling a passer who is in a defenseless posture (e.g., during or just after throwing a pass), a defensive player must not unnecessarily or violently throw him down or land on top of him with all or most of the defender's weight.
Having grown up n Milford, I lived at jai-Alai for a number of years and even played at the amateur level for sometime. Great game to play.Unwatchable league. Jai-alai. Only reason to watch is gambling or fantasy, and that's becoming suspect with these calls.
Don’t get how you don’t double/triple cover him...Its just too easy...Mahomes to Kelce
