From www.weather.com:

BALTIMORE

A WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM MONDAY TO 1 AM EST TUESDAY.

A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE REGION EARLY MONDAY. STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS WILL DEVELOP BEHIND THIS FRONT. FREQUENT GUSTS BETWEEN 45 AND 50 MPH ARE EXPECTED THROUGHOUT THE DAY AND PERSIST INTO THE EVENING HOURS.

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 46 MPH ARE EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT... ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION. SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES COULD OCCUR.

That's pretty windy. Probably see more short to midrange passes than bombs, I'd say it benefits Welker
Right. Unless the wind is at his back, then he might literally throw it 75yds on the fly to Moss or Stallworth.Brady doesn't have the strongest arm, so I agree that Welker and Watson should benefit....or Kevin Faulk.

Or Watson....
and the defense.
NO!!!!! That's the worst combination possible!!!! Those are the 3 I'm playing against!!!!

On a side not, if Bill B was truly the greatest coach, you would think that he should do a ball control run based attack tonight. I would think that running the ball effectively is the only facet of the game the Patriots have not dominated a team in. Tonight would be a great chance to do it!

Hey a guy can hope right.

SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES COULD OCCUR.

Hasn't this occurred with the Ravens offense all year long?

Maybe we will see how effective Maroney can run tonight and if one R Moss is a willing blocker. After Jaws comments there may be more than one camera on him tonight.

Is it me or does Maroneys running style remind you of Belushi as he approached the Deans office in Animal House; run a few steps, stop, look both ways, run a few more steps......

I'm about 2 miles from the stadium now and can vouch for the wind... I would expect swirling (multi-directional) winds since there's no openings in the structure...

"scattered power outages" = power lost when the Ravens have the ball, back on when the Patriots have the ball.

Just my luck, I'm playing Brady and Moss tonight and my opponent has the New England D and I'm behind by a decent amount.

He's probably in shock because he actually has the ball in his hands. Been so long he's not sure what to do with it.

I have to win to make the playoffs....I'm done and up by 19pts, my opponent has Brady.

In our scoring system, Brady's lowest point total is 19...twice. He's averaging 26pts per game.

COME ON WIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I need 7 points out of Gotkowski. This wind could easily keep that from happening.
That's seven PATs. Doable!
Not if they're going for 2 !
Can't kick PATs in those winds!
 None of you are making me feel better. Those are the same things that have been in my head all day. Only 6 more hours til game time.
Up 28 - 7 with 20 seconds left in the game, Belichick sends out Gostkowski to kick a 64-yarder with the wind.Feel Better?

I don't usually find weather.com to be as reliable to local news (at least in Boston). I picked this up from the baltimore nbc affiliate:

TODAY:Partly cloudy and windy with falling temperatures...Highs 44-48(early in the day...Wind: West 25-35 mph. Gusts up to 55 mph.

TONIGHT: Partly Cloudy & Windy, Lows: 27-30, Winds: S 20-30 mph.

No chance BB lines up for a FG only up 21. 47 yard TD to Moss.

Not sure why this is such a common sentiment out there...usually it means people haven't seen too many Pats games. Brady throws a pretty friggin sweet deep ball. Yet there seems to be a misconception that he's a dink-and-dunker like a Pennington or Trent Green. Maybe the recent Pats system of short slants under Weis contributed to that, I don't know, but fact remains Brady has a d@mn good deep arm. (And no, I'm not a Pats homer.)

 I am Mr. Anti-Patriot but he throws the ball a mile.

This season is so wierd....Last week I wanted Philly to put the hammer on Brady and Moss and this week I need 27 points out of the two of them to get in the playoffs.

Hopefully not as windy inside the stadium. What about rain....that Steelers/Cincy game killed me.

the Ravens have a strong short passing game...Mason could go for 12 catches and 48 yards.

Patriots should win this game, but Ravens are at home...so who knows

Go Welker!!

Real question is how to keep Brady's hair from getting messed up on the way into the stadium. I'd probably go with the heavy gel and a large tie pin so his tie don't blow everywhere.

2nd question is how to keep Brady's entourage of hot models from getting too nipply. Maybe go with the large band aids.

Real football question is ;

If they get the chance, do the Pats dare run up the score on Ray Ray and friends. I think the Ravens would disregard some defensive playcalls to go full out blitz in the 4th until they stop passing or pull Brady. I'll be watching.......

nah, some people have a lot of misconceptions about the pats, and are pretty free about spreading them around.it's just because sometimes people who know the least need to talk the loudest.

Thought I would paste the breakout someone did on a Pats board. It breaks down Brady's % of deep balls:

Interestingly, Boller has thrown 34% of his passes beyond 10 yards (length of throw not the end result) whereas Brady has throw 25%. We have an exquisite short game with Moss, Welker, Watson, Gaffney, Faulk.Of Moss' 71 catches, only 10 were thrown longer than 20 yards. Only 8 of Welker's 81 were thrown longer than 10 yards. Only 3 of Stallworth's 37 were thrown beyond 20 yards. We go downfield a decent amount but it's short passes and great YAC that really keep the engine ticking - that's how Brady is completing 72.4% of his passes.
So basically while the bombs to Moss make ESPN, the bread & butter of the Pats O is <20 yards, so I don't anticipate wind putting much of a dent in the Pats passing O.One poster did point out the Pats' one real worry though: If the wind is too harsh, it might push Boller's errant passes on target. That is the one real risk.

The guy was pretty much right. Brady doesnt have the strongest arm. He just has the best arm. But who needs deep balls anyway? Look at what it got Favre against Dallas. Intercepted and hurt. Brady doesnt try to step outside himself in these kind of games. If the wind is whipping, he'll just do what he usually does. Look for the short range mismatch and wear it out until someone can stop it. And if that happens, he'll do it somewhere else.

Hopefully the winds will magically keep Gostkowski under 3 points and give me a playoff berth!*

* - okay not exactly holding my breath on that one.
