Mom's funeral service is today (1 Viewer)

Gawain

If your mom is still around, maybe give her a call. If she's passed, I'm sorry. This is a lousy club to join.

My mother was a tremendous woman, going to college at 17 halfway across the country. Then going to India at 21 on a Fulbright. She worked her entire life to bring a voice to the voiceless and hope to the hopeless. She was chased by farmers with guns when working to improve migrant conditions. She still boycotted California grapes. With three masters, including one in Divinity, she spent the last 20 years ministering to those who were dying and comforting those left behind.

Love each other.

Sorry for your loss Gawain. The way you describe her, it's actually a tremendous loss for everyone. I lost my Mom several years ago. It gets easier, but it's rough. Thanks for sharing here.

Lost my Mom last year and know how tough it is. It sounds like she was a wonderful person and I am sorry for her passing, especially this time of year

I'm sorry Gawain. My Mom passed unexpectedly a little over a year ago, and it was a brutal hit as my Dad has been gone 30 years, which makes me an orphan. Her passing changed the entire family dynamic between my sisters and I as she was always the glue that bound us. Without my Mom around, we have very little in common and have had to figure out what our relationship will look like in the future. Couple that with my sisters' petty bickering over the estate (I'm the Executor), and it's been brutal. Hang in there - the pain will ease with time.

Sorry for your loss. Both of my parents are still around and generally in good health, but at 76 and 73 I know my remaining time with them is waning, especially quality time

Sorry for your loss man. I lost my Mother in 2004. I still miss her. But missing her just means you still have memories and love. Those never go away. I lost my father earlier this year and the memory of the whirlwind of the services and all that is still fresh in my memory. Today will blow through like a hurricane. Hang in there.

So sorry for your loss. The deepness of the sorrow of our loss is often directly proportional to the joy they they provided us. From the sounds of it, you have reason for great sorrow.

very sorry for your loss she sounds like she was a titan of a human i wish you and all she loved the best

Sorry for your loss Gawain. I lost my mother in 1994, 2-weeks before my wedding. It’s a loss you learn to live with but never truly get over. T&P GB.

Gawain, I'm sorry for your loss. No secret on this board how I feel about my mother. I can't even imagine.

fatness, I am sorry for your loss also. Words fail me for the both of you.

I hope you find peace and comfort this holiday season.
