I've seen it here in the past . That is serious critisism of the MNF crew. I'm saying Gruden makes MNF enjoyable to very enjoyable .

I actually like Gruden.. gives some good insight. Cant argue against your opinion.bit overzealous at times but oh well.. he has to its TV.

After enduring Deerdork and then Cornholer ,I'm not even counting the Miller experiment . I guess anything different is good to very good .

Gruden has flavor. What's not to like?

Jaws is Jaws and he has his moments and I like the chemistry he has with Gruden and Tirico.

Tirico is solid. He doesn't annoy me and he picks his moments.

Every time you feel the urge to criticize this team I want you to think about Kornheiser and then speak.

Agree with all.

Part of it is lowered expectations because the guys who preceded them were just awful.

But Gruden brings it every week.

I get tired of Jaws and his 'gushing' over the players. Whoever has the ball, he just sits there and creams his pants over the stars. Oh Matt Ryan is just soooo amazing, oh Roddy White is soooo awesome, oh Michael Turner, oh Drew Brees, he sounds like a freakin' teenage girl. Thank goodness for the mute button.

Nothing to complain about, can't say the same for the rest of the crews so they win by default.

yeah, i like this crew more than i thought i would.

but they still are far from perfect. tonight when bell fumbled with less than two minutes left, gruden said the saints couldn't just take a knee ... he was wrong. taking a step back and taking the knee is only going to cost you 1-2 seconds compared to that cluster$$$$ of running straight into the pile and risking the fumble.

I like it when Jaws turns to Gruden on the Ryan incomplete pass that Gruden wanted to be a fumble, "Your're the genious, you make the call" LMAO

Gruden even when proven wrong kinda just sits there and takes it, and tries to argue his case about how the rule ought to be changed. He remembers well the "tuck rule" and how it cost the Raiders. The guys were keen to what he'd think of that.

They really could have milked that segment and panned Gruden's beet red face, it would have been even more funny.

I would guess grudens time is short lived. There wil be some coaching opportunities in the near future and he is to young to assume he is done walking the sidelines. Redskins,Browns,Chargers,Panthers,Texans,Bears,Buffalo all could be options in the near future and Shanahan and Cowher cant coach all of them. I may even say Greenbay after next year if they dont make a run in the playoffs this year or next. Gruden knows the town, management and would be an instant fan favorite.

HIGHJACK OVER.

Gruden and his over the top everything is getting pretty stale for me. It's like he's playing mad libs. "Nobody is better than __________ [coach/player] at _________ [football term] whenever _________ [football situation]."

I particularly dry-heaved early fourth quarter when he said something to the effect of "Noone likes to go after it on 3rd and short like Sean Payton. Don't be surprised if they take a shot here." Two seconds later. "The last three times on third and short they ran the ball though." Pierre Thomas then proceeds to fumble the ball away.

:kicksrock: To be fair to Gruden, this is what the NFL wants from their analysts - a lot of sunshine blown up the stars' rear ends. This is not going to change.

Tirico -- hard not to like him. Good "booth manager". Calm and knowledgeable.

Gruden -- got to love the knowledge and insight as well as the humor. Wish he wouldn't yell at me.

Jaws -- love him on the Edge NFL Matchup type stuff where he can break it down and analyze. He's a little too over the top for me on MNF. He also feels threatened by Gruden and tries to "one up" him which is annoying. I'd like to get rid of him...but they can't, because they'd need him back if/when Gruden leaves.

Notre Dame.Fixed.

I like the current crew a lot. Gruden was a great addition, although I agree that he can be a bit too over the top with his praise. I mean, saying Devery Henderson has turned himself into an outstanding WR? Let's get real. But that is a minor quibble at best. This crew is great. :lmao:

I chuckled when he said about Sean Payton, "Man, that guy just LOVES to call plays!!!!" Um, Chuckie, I think that comes with the territory for a football coach.I agree, going over the top is part of the job, but last night got particularly out of control. It felt like we were in Tebow/Hansborough territory, except for half the players on the field, both coaching staffs, and the NO fans.I assume alot of it was the lack of Brees/Saints on National TV, so they had to get all their splugging done all at once. Not that doesn't deserve it, his story is pretty amazing.

I think alot of good coaches would be smart to go to college (less work, less pressure, same money, idolized, kids listen, etc.), but I can't imagine Gruden's dumb enough to think ND can ever be a big time winner again.

I think Gruden's performing his role as the network wants, and given his relative inexperience, he's doing a decent job.

My only issue is that a lot of his comments are clearly prescripted (Yeah, I know they all have a list of prescripted stuff, the goal is to make it not SOUND prescripted.)

Unless you want a great drinking game out of it: drink whenever they use the word "explosive". Jeesh, give the word a rest.

Without Gruden, my TV would show "MUTE" in the corner all night long....like years gone bye.
Gruden is a lot better of an analyst than I thought he'd be. Unfortunately he will probably be gone after this year because he will find a new coaching job. So I am enjoying the ride while it lasts until ESPN puts some other clown back in the booth next year.

Who is Matt Ryan? I thought his name was Matty Ice. At least that's all they ever called him. lol. They are better than their predecessors, thats for sure. Tirico is very good.I'd like to throw Stuart Scott & Millen into a deep hole though.
