**Monday Night Football - Eagles 8-4 at Chargers 8-4**(+2, 42) 8:15 (1 Viewer)

Hampton back,Vidal running well
No Carter for Philly
Should be interesting
Chargers defense isn't bad
If Herbert plays The Home Team has a shot
The Visitors have been kinda meh but winning enough to get into the postseason
Hoping for an exciting, fun game to end the week
How about Dicker The Kicker wins the game...

Bring Back The Powder Blues- 27

Pheagles- 24

I think there is about a 99% chance Herbert is playing. I also think he's set up for a pretty nice game as long as he gets time. Eagles secondary is mediocre this season. Mitchell and DeJean are still good, but everyone else sucks. I think this could be a nice week for Keenan Allen (who I expect to be matched up with Adoree Jackson the most) and Oronde Gadsden. McConkey/DeJean should be a fun matchup of 2 of my biggest hits from the 2024 draft. I think Herbert also could have success running, if he wants to. I do have concerns about the OL blocking the Philly DL even with no Jalen Carter(who is overrated) I'm looking forward to the 700-pound matchup of Jordan Davis vs Mekhi Becton. I do think Jaelen Phillips could eat Trey Pipkins lunch, but Herbert is good at evading guys.

For the Eagles, I think this is gonna be a run heavy gameplan, with both Barkley and Hurts. Chargers have a sneaky good pass defense, and I think the Chargers coaches are better than the Eagles in that Eagles offense vs Chargers defense matchup.

Eagles-17

Good breakdown. Should be a fun game. Hoping for an exciting one with a high score but fear it will be a 13-10 snoozer.

Your last comment about the coaches made me LOL. (In agreement) Cuz saying the Chargers D coaching is better than the Eagles O coaching….is like saying Karl Rove is a better political strategist than my cousin Jimmy. The Eagles OC shouldn’t be an OC at any level of football including peewee level.

I'll be shocked if Herbert doesn't start. I would not be shocked if Nolan or someone gives him a hard hit and he uses that bad hand to brace his fall. The defense has reportedly been planning as though they are going to face Trey Lance also, so they obivously are skeptical that Herbert will play/be able to make it through the game. I know the guy is tough, so who knows, but its notable that they've been preppeing for both. As an aside, the most Philadelphia thing to happen would be that Herbert goes out, Trey Lance comes in and Joe Webb's our collective asses.

Any way, I need this to be a style points game in addition to a win. Said in the team thread that I would want very strong offensive output almost more than a win. I'm hoping we see Nick with the play card and Petullo upstairs, personally. In reality I have literally no feel for this game. I don't see a ton of Chargers football, but I've had the unfortunate displeasure of watching this team's offensive abortions over the last four weeks and I just can't get behind them fixing it until I see it. Nick gets a ton of slack from me as I couldn't believe that he was able to take that 2023 dumpster fire and the next season turn them into Super Bowl champs. But he needs to show he can do it.

Eagles have a bunch of tomato cans in front of them, so losing wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. I'd love for them to be going into Buffalo on a little 3 game tear though.

Low-ish scoring game tonight. Think the Eagles pull it out but it will be close.

Birds 20-17

If this is the outcome, I will back into a playoff spot most likely.

I need to decide between Gadsden or Goedert at TE in a ppr league in order to ensure a win and make the playoffs so these takes on the game are much appreciated. Basically need the Philly D and my TE to stay within 8 points of opponents Vidal. I'm a little nervous.

I have watched many years(30+) of Charger football and still have only seen it once- they rose above a much better opponent and won a critical game. Jan 15 1995 was the only game I remember this happening...(Miami hook and ladder game notwithstanding). If the win tonight I will be pretty shocked. It just never happens.

A lot of commenters here throwing around “if Herbert plays”.

I thought it was a foregone conclusion he was playing.

But at the same time, Hampton hasn’t been activated yet, so maybe the Chargers are playing funny games.

Are the Eagles really a “much better” opponent? Statistically this looks to be a pretty even matchup. Vegas line supports that.

I think the internal strife has limited their productivity as a team.

On paper, the Eagles are far superior and it isnt even close.

in actuality, I'd say they have a chance but probably not a good chance. I'd say 30--35% chance to win

You apparently have never watched the Chargers play. There's this thing- it's called Chargering if you never heard of it, look it up. It's real and it's spectacular.

Just because I fully realize that most folks that read the game threads are primarily interested in the commentor's personal needs. For some unexplained reason, although I have been in a five-week battle with one remaining opponent to win the NFL Survivor Pick-em, AND although I spent an hour looking closely at game expectations and teams not yet used, AND although I settled on Seatlle as being my week 14 winner, I neglected to inform the Commissioner of my pick, AND did not realize that until almost halftime of the SNF game.

Fortunately, I have not yet used one of the teams in tonight's match, so Fly Eagles Fly!

I see AJ Brown having another big game, Hurts running for a score and Barkley also posting a TD as the Eagles win a close one, 27-24.

Wait, what? Is that a fact? Disagree completely. Show us where the congratulations or whatever come pouring in on any of that stuff. Nobody gives a damn about what some guy he'll never know did in his FF league in Maine on week X.

You might see a flippant congratulatory post occasionally. Neat. When the game is over, everybody's long gone, rightfully so.

When it can be fun is the in-game stuff, where it's like you're watching it with companions who point out interesting or different takes along the way. No way people here are legit rooting for Longjohn72's player to reach 33 yards.

If Herbert plays, LAC 27... PHI 20

If Herbert sits, PHI 24... LAC 11
You are about to experience in one game what we experience every year.
i get what you're saying bolt, but eagles fans are experiencing it plenty this season. :violin:i know. but every game we hope this is the one where they right the ship and then... well at least one team will break the cycle tonight. fly eagles fly!

or eagles win ugly and it continues for both teams. i wish i didn't think of that.

Hey look pal I’m a Steelers fan and one of the most devastating days of my life (at the time) was the 1994 AFC championship game. You might remember that one? I’m pretty sure that’s another example of a Chargers team beating a heavy favorite.

I’m not following what that link was supposed to convey? Steelers were only 6 point favorites so not as big as I recollected. Just remember that was just shocking pain as I was so confident going into that game.

Our soccer team here in Philly is similar. They’re the Union and when anything bad or they let us down in a WTF just happened or How did that happen we just refer to it as “That’s so UNION.”

no feel for this one whatsoever. Been losing faith that eagles can right the offensive ship, but Chargers are far less intimidating then many of the teams Philly has already played and beaten. It does seem that if Eagles are going to make any kind of deep run, this is a game they should win with some conviction. Right now I'm leaning towards yet another nail biter without conviction, something like 24-20 Philly.

The old school Chargers fans recounting this forever jinx on their franchise speak of what they know.

And not until Spanos is gone for good, shall they be released.

No Lane and no Carter. Eagles will need to play mistake free and be efficient in the red zone/on third down to pull this one out. If they do it’ll save the season.

they have become accustomed to playing with Lane. Carter can be a force in the middle, but hasn't been all that consistent. Not sure these losses are as big as some make them

WITMF was that??? It wasn't just the drop. Brown could not have looked more lackadaisical than that. Like, did that really just happen???

Prop bet scrutiny should be on high alert on that ****.
