**Monday Night Football - Eagles 8-4 at Chargers 8-4**(+2, 42) 8:15 (1 Viewer)

on replay easy to see what Hurts saw. IN a vacuum, not an egregious mistake. IN that scenario it is though
I blame the play call more than Hurts. What is point of throwing there? A tie would have been a very good outcome for the Eagles. I feel like this coaching staff (starting from Sirianni) has some major Hubris going on.

Hand it off and see what Barkley gets, no way that’s the play. Stupid.
scenario wise I agree. Just saying that on replay it's very easy to see why Jalen threw that. Was a great defensive play more then it was a bad pass play

Sure but defense was on its heels, run the ball. Definitely don’t throw anything that can be a pick on first down with a worst case tie locked up.

as I said....I agree. Didn't like the play call there.

A lot of ego. I’ve been saying for awhile I think Sirianni is a good guy, loves his players and defend him to no end, but he gets incredibly lucky a lot. Constantly outcoached but wins because the other coach says hold my beer I can do one better then you on a bad decision. Lurie and Roseman built a film proof talent roster that just needed better coaching. The talent I think has won inspite of coaching. It’s obvious guys like Steichen and Moore were way more important than some had given credit for. Thank god for Fangio and the defense or this team might be in KC territory of bad this year after SB.

I am shocked! lol Sorry guys. I thought you had this for sure. Bad Hurts showed up tonight. *as a side note...the Chargers won this game almost in the same fashion as in 1995. Pass deflected by a charger defender into the hands of another Charger defender.
I think that was the worst hurts nfl game of all time. 5 years. But that was it

Big turnover (and TD after, let's hope) but the Eagles are in disarray. Nothing close to a team that could be dangerous.

It was a nice run, too bad they lost their way. Thought they might start putting it together, but not seeing it. Good lord, Hurts is all over the joint. They'll win some more games but no way they do damage in the playoffs.
going to finish the first half with just under 200 yards of offense. So.......Eagles fans are frustrated over this offense this year, but not sure we're fairly evaluating what we're seeing from it tonight.
Fair enough, I'm definitely passing judgement early but that's also the fun of it. I don't see a team that's going to come together and become what they were. This is night and day from last year.

It's human nature to be content and lose that fire after you've been on top of the mountain. All I'm saying is it ain't happening again. They're all over the place; that won't get them there again.

Some very hungry teams out there. This doesn't look like one. They're good, but not Super Bowl Championship good.
Appreciate the reply (read and response), and honestly it actually drew me back into it . . . curious your take . . . since you're one of the best football minds on this board.

And so, posters like you make this place more Funner.

renesauz is basically the David Hasslehoff of FF/FBG.

You're the Mayor. Mad respect!

How about now? You seeing the fire that will get them and there 200 yards of offense there?

First the good:
* The defense was very good yesterday. They constantly got put in terrible situations and came up big.
* Godert has been quietly been nails all season.
* Barkley finally had some of burst he had last season.

The bad:
* The interior of that offensive line was getting blown up all night. The only success they had running came outside.
* Hurts was putrid. That might have been the worst game of his career. He did have some nice throws though, and that leads me to the next bullet point.
* AJ Brown is hurting this team. The first play of the game was a tough catch for sure, but high level WR make it. The TD drop was perfectly thrown. The 3rd int Hurts threw that went off Brown"s hands was high but, again, a high level WR makes thar catch. I can pick apart at least three more plays, but i don't need to beat a dead horse. The last problem i have is with Brown's effort in blocking. I know that's not what he's there for but, damn, make an effort. I can't tell you how many times the person who made the tackle just blew right past him while he was just standing there. Jesus, at least chip the guy, I'm not asking you to blow him out of his cleats.

The very last play of the game had a couple of interesting things going on:

A.) The defender who ended up making the interception/catching the tipped ball was lucky as heck his teammate had a deep understanding of the game and tackled him to secure the win.

B.) After winning the game(and being tackled by his own teammate), he ran by the entire Eagles sideline gloating and holding the ball up. Epic $#^& you! to the eagles organization.

It was an RPO TE flat. This is a play that actually in EA NCAA college football and Madden known as a money play or cheat play that gets spammed for big yards. Either way Hurts made the wrong read on the play. It should’ve been a hand off but he makes the wrong read and then forced into a bad throw when at that point it should’ve been thrown away.

This explains the play better but this was more on Jalen’s bad read then a bad call

Last play of game sunmerized
