And Jackson has looked ugly. The whole GB situation doesn't look pleasant at all. I don't know about the rest of you but I'll be avoiding GB players this season unless I can absolutely terrific value.

Morency was just dropped in one 12-team league I'm in. I picked him up for my RB6... figured its well worth it. But his chances have narrowed for sure with this injury.

Any reports on how Wynn is looking thus far?

Rotoworld) The Packers are impressed by DeShawn Wynn's ability to pick up the blitz.Impact: It's a key skill, especially for rookies. Coach Mike McCarthy says Wynn has "picked up the (zone-blocking) scheme rapidly" after dealing with a stomach virus early in camp. At 220+ pounds with 4.45 speed, Wynn is an intriguing talent and could challenge for time right away if he stays healthy.

Rotoworld: "Brandon Jackson gained 20 yards on six carries at the Packers' weekend scrimmage, including a 1-yard TD, and also caught a 25-yard reception in which he lined up in the slot.

He also did a better job picking up blocks. Jackson has received negative reviews for his work thus far in camp, so it's only fair we mentioned his improved performance. A big preseason would solidify a possible starting role."

Green Bay has RBBC written all over it. Morency knows the offense and doesn't need a full camp to be ready for week 1. He should be the early season starter.

Brandon Jackson is going to get every chance to earn significant carries. He has looked decent so far showing good hands and a nose for the end zone. Early on he hasn't been able to show consistency in his cuts though missing out on turning 1 yard plays into chain moving rushes.

Wynn hasn't done anything but show above average pass blocking skills and a questionable work ethic...buyer beware on him.

The guy who has looked the best so far is Noah Herron. However, he's nothing more than a backup/#3 RB in the NFL.

Am I in a time warp? It's been known for about a week that Morency was going to miss a minimum of two weeks and closer to four.

ITYM blitzes but nonetheless this will be the key for BrandonThere's no way they set Favre up to get slaughterred no matter how good the rook looks. He stunk at picking up the blitz and is getting better. I'd pay attention to this the next few weeks as the rest is gift wrapped for him.

Glad I'm not the only one.The running game in Green Bay looks horrific. Bump Favre, Driver and Jennings up in the rankings.

I think the Morency injury will make him a very cheap option for a likely starter once the season rolls around. If he weren't injured he'd be running with the 1st team and cost much more come draft time. The only downside is if Jackson takes the ball and runs with it which doesn't sound as if it's happening at the present time.

I wouldn't avoid Driver and Jennings. Favre should be chucking the ball a ton this year.

True, but unfortunately most chucks will end up in the hands of the defense.

Shh..... Noah Herron..... shhhh.
That's what I was thinking. I caught some of the scrim on NFLN last night and Herron was running w/ Favre on the field and looking pretty good. Admittedly, I didnt watch the entire game though.
Herron was in during the two min drill, which he is best suited for.Jackson ran with the number ones during the first two drives.ETA: sp

You can probably chalk up about 20+ INTs for Brett this year, but if he throws the ball 30+ times a game, there's still a lot of receptions to be had.

If you're a shark, in IDP leagues, you can count on Driver getting 8-10 points for tackles. :(

With Morency out, it'll be interesting to see how much work Jackson even gets during the 1st preseason game. Wouldn't surprise me to see Wynn and Herron get the bulk of the carries.

Exactly. Wynn will be seeing 'a lot' of action this weekend, according to McCarthy.

Don't they do this dance every year though?I'm fairly certain I can remember some Najeh, Fisher, Ahman, Bennett etc preseason injuries.I'm halfway curious if Kleck or Aaronstory can recall a summer this RB injury stuff didn't happen and who the backs were then

For those wondering about whether or not D. Wynn gets in the picture, here's a little insight from his former coach, talking about UF running backs, from today's Gainesville Sun.

Meyer: "If you struggle because you give a lack of effort and you've got a bunch of people around you working real hard, that makes you kind of sick to your stomach. I experienced that the first year at Florida. I mean real sick to my stomach."

Folks that follow the Gators know he questioned Wynn's effort at times (over the last two years, not just the first year, as mentioned in the quote). I know this doesn't mean Wynn can't turn it around, maybe a paycheck is what he needs for motivation. Just throwing it out for folks looking for a little insight. God help you if D. Wynn is integral to your success this year in FF, but for those in deep leagues that want to take a flier on somebody, maybe this helps with evaluation.
