Moreno Owners (1 Viewer)

the spanker

I picked Moreno up off of waivers a couple weeks ago and he's been at the tail end of my roster and so far I've kept him and resisted other tempting WW flavor of the week guys kept him on the bench for his upside but I keep wondering if he's even worth it.

I searched and found this thread: "Value of Broncos players post-Lloyd" but not much is stated about Moreno's value going forward.

Just curious what Moreno Owners (if there are any left  ) are doing with this guy?

Are you keeping him strictly as an emergency back because other RBs now are dropping like flies? Hoping for a McGahee injury? Selling him after hopefully a big game?

Anyone see any potential going forward because Tebow is now the man and can't throw the rock beyond 10 yards?

Has anyone recently bought low on him? Can he still be a RB3 in PPR? Is he truly waiver material?

Haven't seen or heard any comments in this forum and wonder have the Moreno owners faded into oblivion?

Dropped him after 1st week in a shallow league where you can start 4 RBs. He has been picked up and quickly dropped by two teams since. I'd say his NFL career is over.

I've been hanging on to him in the event that McGahee gets injured, has a couple bad games, etc etc. I wasted a 3rd round pick and I'd hate to drop him and have another owner pick him up if he did start putting up good numbers second half of the season.. He is my fourth RB currently in a league that starts 2 RB, 2 WR, and 1 Flex.

I still think he has the talent to turn his career around, but I'm not sure about the heart. Money can suck the drive out of a lot of people and that may be what happened to Moreno since even when healthy he doesn't play like the guy I saw at Georgia. If he does turn it around it likely won't be in Denver.

I think this next week will be very telling. At the end of that last game when Tebow was in there, he hit Moreno on a screen pass for a 40 yard touchdown. It was by far the most aggressive I have seen him play since coming out of Gerogia. He was fired up and initiated contact, even running a guy over. It's possible the light just went on. If he is available, i would pick him up or hold him for this week and see what happens. Im not saying its def gonna happen, just an observation.

The way I see it that Denver knows McGahee is not the long-term solution and they have Moreno signed rather cheaply for the next two years. McGahee is playing well but he's very fresh after only getting about a season's worth of carries during his last three years with the Ravens. Who knows how long he can keep the pace up. The Broncos have an incentive to get Moreno going but Fox has his own way of dealing with RB's so we shall see.

i drafted Moreno and have held him on the bench without playing him yet. He is my 4th or 5th running back in a league that is a 2 start RB. I hoping he turns it around or mcgahee gets hurt. It might be me being stubborn since i drafted him early.

I drafted Moreno in the 6th and McGahee in the 10th as his handcuff. Now, I'm rolling with McGahee in my flex every week and holding onto Moreno as his handcuff. Funny how it works, but in the end, I got from the two what I wanted to get--just, you know, backwards, or... whatever.
