Good point but that might even add a little more Frank's hot sauce to the the NE holier than thou mindset.more egocentric than the jets?![]()
I can't figure this stuff out either. Brady says they won't go at Revis. Ryan says Revis will be on Moss the entire game. When do you ever hear coaches and players discussing strategy before the game? There's definitely something fishy about this stuff.I'm starting to get the feeling that the Patriots, and especially Randy Moss, want to make a statement in this game. The Revis Island stuff has to be getting under his skin. Moss is going to be out to prove that he's still got the goods.Brady supposedly admitted that they will avoid Revis Island this week. Something reeks about those sentiments though. Percentage wise, it's not good game planning to go at Revis but I do believe pride and ego will get in the way for Brady and Moss. I could see multiple throws in that direction in a deliberate attempt to make a few headlines.
There isn't a more egocentric group in the NFL than Belicheat, Moss and Brady.
Moss will go 5 for 60 no TDs. Welker is the man to have, now, and going forward.

Bingo... I posted this in the brady thread alreasdy. IF REVIS STAYS ON MOSS:Moss is held to 3/60 or so. No biggie. However Welker/Hernandez/Faulk pick the Jets apart in the flat and over the middle. Tate has a field day with Cromartie. If they're dumb enough to put Revis on Welker, welker STILL gets his due to sharp cuts and timing routes that are undefendable....and Moss goes off for triple digit yards and 2 TDs unless they double team him. Hernandez will see more passing action than Gronk given the Jet's tendency to blitz and Gronk's blocking skills. Tate should benefit nicely though. That's the problem when facing Brady & Co.... he's like Manning in that he's simply going to take what you give him. If the Jets blitz, they get crushed with the dink and dunk passes. If they sit back they'll get picked apart. Losing Jenkins is a huge hole to fill as you could rely on him to clog up the middle vs the run. Now some LBs have to stay in to help fortify that spot. Expect NE to stack the line and force Sanchez (lol) to beat them. Pats by 10-14.Brandon Tate wins.
This was the question running thru my head when I answered Moss. What defines winning or losing? IMO, Moss has about a 50% chance of geting 50 yards and a 50% chance of getting a TD. But in regular scoring/0 ppr leagues I don't give him much chance of getting much more than 10 fantasy points.
I thought the same thing about this being a ruse just to get them to test Revis' side of the field. As for who wins...the WR that is not covered by Revis. If Rex wants to put him solely on Moss, then Welker and Tate should have good games. I still think Randy will get some OK numbers.the hamstring thing is just a ruse to get brady to throw that way. Revis will get some decent IDP stats this week.
.....or it's a built in excuse if Moss manages to roast him.the hamstring thing is just a ruse to get brady to throw that way. Revis will get some decent IDP stats this week.
I have them both in my lineup, and do not like either of their week two matchups. This could be my very first 0-2 fantasy football start. The idea that Revis may be covering Welker instead of Moss seems to be picking up some steam. I heard it discussed on WEEI in Boston and WFAN in New York during the week, and now the guys on the AFC Playbook show on the NFL Network (Billick, Sharpe, Theismann) echoed the same thing.
The theory being if Revis does indeed have a tender hamstring, it will affect him the most running sprints with Moss on 9-routes. Whereas if he covers Welker in the slot, it will be more stop-and-start action which he can probably handle better.
I am flipping a coin at this point between Moss and Smith (CAR).![]()

+1Other points: You can test Revis' hammy without throwing that way. Welker still not 100%. He is a great player but not "undefendable". For the second week, I'll be looking for a Hernandez break-out.Ultima Thule said:Youth will be served. For me it's Revis's age advantage that wins the day.
